About
Ohm's Law Electric & Air Conditioning runs as a women owned and family operated shop right in Houston, TX. Their work centers on HVAC systems and electrical services for houses in the area. Houston weather means plenty of calls about air conditioning that has to keep up with the heat plus electrical problems from storms or old wiring. The business gets described as friendly and efficient when homeowners reach out for help with these common local troubles. They handle jobs that come from the demands of living in a big Texas city where systems face constant stress from humidity and temperature swings.
When a job comes in the crew gets out fast with names like JC and Chris handling the hands on repairs. They trace circuits to fix mislabeled breakers, repair outlets that stop working, and put in new timer switches without dragging things out. Mike in the office lines up the visits while Tonya keeps the schedule moving and works around travel or deadlines set by insurers for panel replacements. Homeowners see them tackle both the HVAC side for cooling systems and the electrical panels that power everything in Houston homes. The same crews handle quick outlet fixes one day and full panel swaps the next to match what the house actually needs.
Customers keep noting how quick the response times run and how clean the quality stays on both electrical and cooling repairs around Houston. Communication gets credit for fitting work into busy plans and hitting insurance deadlines without extra headaches. Price feedback stays steady on the value side even when larger jobs like panels add up. Some mentions point to service shifts over time that left a few folks wanting more follow through. What Customers Say
“We called on Monday and Mike in the office had JC and Chris at our house on Tuesday morning. They efficiently diagnosed and quickly repaired a malfunctioning electrical outlet, installed a new timer switch, traced outlets to mislabeled circuit breakers and vice versa (they helped remove and rehang an 80 inch TV to do some of this!), and teed up work to add additional loads and circuits to our generator. They were great.”
“I had positive experience from the first call! They accommodated me in every way, worked around my travel plans and installed a new electric panel by the deadline set by my home insurer. This great service made it hurt a lor less when I got the bill! I highly recommend. Tonya, thank you for being so professional and sending out 2 fabulous and friendly technicians, John and Alex!”
“Ohms did some work for me a couple years ago and did an excellent job. So I recently asked for a quote to do some additional work and they were very disappointing to work with this time around. It is unfortunate that their customer service is going to cost them this work and future work with me. The details - They failed to get me the first quote, and I had to call them to find out what happened and to get a second visit arranged. They then failed to show up for the second visit. When I called to find out what was going on, they fabricated a story that I had called them and said that “I was confused and didn’t want to get the work done”. After expressing my frustration, Tonya at Ohms proposed sending me a quote without having to do another visit, and recommended that it would make sense for my situation to split the work up into two quotes to tackle one at a time. The quote I received was not split and was incorrect in a few places. When I asked her to make the corrections, part of which was reducing the scope of work, she increased the cost by 30% in the updated quote, citing that the reason was efficiencies lost by having to make multiple trips (Ohms is 10 min from my house). She then lied to me for a second time when she stated that she never recommended multiple trips. It was at this point that I chose to go with another service provider.”
“Wonderful women owned, family run business. They are fast efficient and very friendly. Tonya, the lady who schedules all the work, is very nice and super helpful! They did a great job and I would defiantly use them again in the future.”
“I highly recommend OHMS! The secretary told me that she would give me a heads up call when they were close so I wouldn't have to put other errands on hold while waiting. Matt and Libni showed up and had the job done in an hour! Everyone was super friendly!”
