About

Ortega's Mechanical runs as a locally owned HVAC outfit right in Atascosa County, Texas. They opened for business in 2020 and stick to the heating and cooling work that homeowners around here need most. Texas weather hits hard with long hot stretches that wear out air conditioners fast and occasional cold snaps that test furnaces and heat pumps. The crew stays ready for both routine upkeep and sudden breakdowns that leave houses uncomfortable in a hurry. They focus on practical fixes that keep systems working through the worst of the seasons without adding extra costs or delays that locals cannot afford.

They handle AC installation and replacement along with regular maintenance to keep units running through summer peaks. Emergency AC repair calls get attention fast when systems quit on the hottest days plus duct cleaning and swamp cooler work when needed. On the heating side they do furnace tune ups and repairs, heat pump maintenance or full swaps, and hybrid dual fuel setups. Homeowners also turn to them for indoor air quality items like humidifiers, air purifiers, and new thermostats plus ductless mini split installation and fixes when whole house systems fall short. These jobs cover the real problems that pop up in county homes where old units fail without warning and new installs must handle the heat load.

Customers keep coming back because the team shows up quick when called and gets jobs done without dragging things out. That response speed stands out in the ratings and lines up with solid marks on quality and clear talk about what needs fixing versus what does not. Fair pricing helps too when parts or labor add up on bigger jobs. Homeowners note the crew explains options plainly and avoids pushing unneeded work that would waste money. What Customers Say

I came here to do a state inspection at the last minute. They politely informed me that I don’t need to because my car is over a certain age. Not one mechanic in the last 7 years has told me that I don’t need to do this and took my money anyway. That kind of honesty goes a long way. I am happy to come back to get work done. I hope you work on old Volvos!

I Did not get the warm and fuzzy here like I always do . I usually get my oil changes here but yesterday I needed to get some new brake pads. They sent me the quote and included new rotors and brake fluid flush, and a new drive belt. I personally went back up there to look at the rotors and they were fine. I told them I don’t want the extra stuff you’re selling and me and you both know the rotors are fine. After calling there bs and explaining my girlfriend is a nurse and we don’t have time for you to build a New car. They finally said they will change the brake pads with no warranty. It still came out to be over 300 bucks which i thought was really high. They forgot to take off the new rotors that they didn’t install. I don’t trust them with my oil changes anymore and I will be finding a new mechanic.

This shop knowingly completed unnecessary service on my vehicle simply to swindle me out of a hundred bucks. I had my vehicle towed here after experiencing engine problems; it was late Saturday evening, I was in an unfamiliar neighborhood, and I was catching a flight shortly after, so I picked the closest shop possible. When they opened on Monday, they called me to get the details, and everything was fine until they completed the diagnostic without consulting me first. Turns out, my repairs are covered under warranty, and the dealership service providers will have to rerun the diagnostic regardless. Of course, the diagnostic is completely covered under warranty, but at the shop it’s $150. I spoke with several other service providers at the dealership beyond, and all agreed that the mechanics would have and should have known immediately to hold off on any diagnostics, and deferred to the dealership, due to the fact that my car is new and has very few miles on it. I contested the charges and scheduled a tow truck to take my car to the dealership. The service advisor responded by telling me that she would withhold my keys from the tow truck driver until I had paid my bill… for a service that, frankly, they clearly performed only to make a quick buck off me. I know it’s hard just $100, but it’s unethical, and they should be ashamed of themselves.

After my Kia Soul was stolen I had came here to repair the cosmetics around my steering column and get a replacement for my blinker signal switch. They also noticed I needed an oil change and were able to help take care of this for me as well! Great people and great prices. Definitely recommend this place :)

Thank you to the whole crew at Ortega. Very professional and timely. I will simply say that we had a unique circumstance, and the crew went above and beyond. They were able to get our vehicle diagnosed, parts there, and job completed very quickly! Coming from the person from out of town and with a unique circumstance, THANK YOU!!!
