“I was quoted ~$2300 for removal of existing fiberglass insulation and spray-foam air sealing in the attic. No complaints about the insulation removal itself. The crew cleared out the attic and did a good job keeping things clean without leaving a mess in the house. However, the air sealing felt incomplete. I would estimate roughly 80% of the work was done. At the end of the job, they provide a satisfaction form to sign, but there was no walkthrough of the attic. In hindsight, I should not have signed before doing a thorough inspection myself. I needed the insulation removed so I could install rafter baffles afterward, which required me to go through the entire attic. During that process, I noticed many areas that were skipped, particularly along exterior wall edges. It appeared that only the easier to reach sections were sealed, while tighter or more difficult areas, which are honestly the main reason to hire this work out, were left unfinished. Additionally, some areas that were spray-foamed did not actually seal the gaps. Several spots had foam applied on top of the sheetrock rather than into the joint between materials where air leakage occurs. A few penetrations around light boxes and duct openings were also missed. Since I was on a project timeline and already planning to work in the attic, I chose not to request a callback. I ended up sealing the remaining areas myself and essentially auditing the completed work to ensure gaps were properly addressed. Overall, the insulation removal portion met expectations, but the air sealing did not fully deliver. If I had known I would need to complete a significant portion of the sealing myself, I likely would have handled the project independently. Based on this experience, I would probably look at other companies for similar work in the future and cannot strongly recommend this one. Pictures showing lighter yellow foam are my applications.”

I checked online and found Payless Insulation, so I decided to give them a try. From the free estimate and quote I found them reasonably priced. The garage attic insulation was scheduled and completed. I was impressed from start to finish. Fernando and his crew did a very good job from start to finish.
