Phil'S Good A/C & Heating
HVAC Contractor · Houston, TX
About
Phil's Good A/C & Heating operates out of Houston, Texas, where they handle all kinds of heating and cooling work for homes and businesses around the area. This crew focuses on HVAC systems, from putting in new units to keeping the old ones running right. They're licensed and insured under number TACLA66604E, and they deal with the heat and humidity that hits Houston hard every year. With energy bills climbing, they look at things like ductwork and insulation that can waste power in local houses. They cover installation, fixes, and regular checkups on air conditioners, furnaces, and heat pumps for just about any brand out there.
They handle full HVAC jobs including air conditioning repairs, furnace work, heat pump service, and maintenance visits. One tech named Lance showed up for a warranty call and got a blower motor swapped out so the AC ran again. Another time he came in, figured out the issue fast, and had it fixed without dragging things out. Folks mention they do retrofits and replacements too, plus air quality stuff and ventilation systems. They work on natural gas furnaces, electric ones, and central cooling setups, showing up for both houses and commercial spots. If something breaks in the middle of a Houston summer, they aim to get it sorted quick with straightforward rates.
Homeowners keep coming back because these guys show up when they say they will and get the job done without extra hassle. Reviews point to solid work on compressor issues and tune ups that actually catch problems before they get worse. The rates stay fair compared to others in town, and the crew explains what needs fixing in plain talk. Communication stays clear from the first call through the end of the repair. Speed matters a lot when the heat is on, and quality shows in systems that stay running after the visit. DIRT Score 4.11 from 239 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“My home warranty (AHS) scheduled an AC tune-up/check expecting professional and thorough service, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The service felt rushed, and the technician completed the “inspection” in approximately 13 minutes. I did not feel that the system was properly inspected, nor were any findings or recommendations clearly communicated to me. I also was not provided with any type of report or summary regarding the condition of my AC unit at the time of service. When I contacted the company to express my concerns, the representative handled the matter as if it were unimportant. I was informed that their policy does not provide customers with a report unless one is specifically requested, and that a report would only be available once the invoice was submitted to my home warranty company. I later received the report via email with a very generic summary "Cooling system check, no mechanical failure were found at this time". In addition, my original appointment was scheduled for 5/20. It was not until I personally followed up with the company — with less than an hour remaining in the service window they provided — that I was informed the technician needed to be rescheduled for the following day or another date. Customers should not have to follow up to confirm whether a technician is still scheduled to arrive. Due to the overall lack of communication, professionalism, and attention to detail, I contacted my home warranty company to document my experience and requested that this company no longer be assigned to any future service requests for my home. I expected much better customer service and a more thorough inspection process. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company for AC tune-up or maintenance services.”
“Read all the reviews and understand who you are dealing with. This company left my master bathroom with no power after working on my ac compressor. They then tried to get me for a bad coil after waiting 3 weeks for a compressor. Do not trust this company. The owner himself doesnt stand behind his sub contractors work. He thinks causing damage to someone's home is no big deal. Do not let AHS send these guys to your home.”
“Would give a zero. That is what this company deserves. Sending incompetent technician to my House. Techniciant Told my AHS contractor that the system was out due to a storm surge. Not even close! Dumb ! Dumb! Dumb! Please don't use this company? Tried to get money paid to them by telling a very lie to the contractor to receive the money. Oh! How sorry the company is.”
“Last Sunday 27th of July. My AC home is not working properly. Like morning feels cold until 4pm my house feels deeper hot. I have AHS warranty and they contract with Phil’s Good AC/ Heating. They send black technician; forgot his name. He came on time and needs diagnosis but he destroyed my AC unit, your technician came on Wednesday 30th of July. Diagnose my AC from the Attic, and the Condenser outside. The thermostat is a device that controls the temperature, I wonder why the technician changed the Nest thermostat to an old school thermostat. It doesn't make sense to me. First of all. He came outside and changed the capacitor wrong size, no power in that capacitor, cut the wire of ac condenser. He told me that the AC condenser is not working anymore. On the Attic, he swapped the wire of ac unit, took the hose cover made sure that if I turn on the AC, the air will blow on the attic, not inside my house. I hold the heat from the day the technician came to check and diagnose. Anyway, I called my friend who is working in this industry. I told the story of what happened to my AC problem. He saw the wires were cut, wrong capacitor, swap wires on attic, and more”
“We just moved here and were having ac issues. Lance was awesome explained the issues and fixed everything and briefed us at the end of service. Would recommend him again he understood our frustration cause we just got the house and the hvac is fairly new and he explained mitigation steps to prevent future issues.”
