Polar Air Corp
HVAC Contractor · Houston, TX
About
Polar Air Corp operates out of Houston, Texas, where they handle air conditioner and furnace repair along with routine service calls for local homes. The intense heat and humidity in this area put heavy strain on cooling equipment, leading to frequent breakdowns during peak summer months. Their crews stay ready to respond when systems fail under those conditions and have built repeat business with households that deal with the same ongoing issues year after year. They focus on quick fixes to get things running again without unnecessary delays.
They perform tasks like swapping out evaporator coils on older units, locating refrigerant leaks through testing and then explaining parts availability and costs right away, and completing full replacements the day after the initial call. Technicians arrive for maintenance but may require some prompting to finish every item on the list during the visit. Homeowners note that the company confirms the arrival window the day before and again on the day of the job while presenting straightforward choices when more than a simple repair is needed. One customer had an evaporator coil replaced on their unit after years of service, while another saw a leak tracked down with a clear timeline laid out before parts were ordered.
Customers consistently note the fast response after the first contact, the honest estimates that line up with the final work, and the follow through after jobs wrap up. The technicians usually come across as polite during visits and manage the common heat-related problems in Houston without added holdups. There have been a couple instances where maintenance fell short until pointed out, yet the steady performance on speed and communication stands out overall. DIRT Score 3.84 from 26 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“We’ve been loyal customers of Polar Air Corp for the past four years, and their service continues to exceed our expectations every time. Earlier this week, they replaced the evaporator coil on one of our AC units, and the entire experience was seamless from start to finish. Their team is consistently professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. They take the time to explain what needs to be done and ensure everything is completed correctly the first time. It’s clear they genuinely care about the quality of their work and their customers’ comfort. What sets Polar Air Corp apart is their reliability and trustworthiness. Over the years, they’ve serviced both our AC and furnace, and we’ve never once been disappointed. In fact, we won’t let anyone else handle our HVAC needs. If you’re looking for dependable, high-quality service, Polar Air Corp is the company to call. We highly recommend them.”
“I used to swear by this company bc of their responsiveness when there was a problem and the polite and courteous service of their techs. But I have two major problems. 1) The most recent tech that came to my house did zero maintenance work until I prodded him to do so. Even though I’m signed up on the bi-annual service plan. He said he “didn’t see a hose” to be able to wash the coils, but he never even asked if we had one or made an attempt. We do. It’s on the other side of the fence. Second, he tried to leave after literally a 10 minute visual inspection. Told me I needed a new system bc my “drain pan” is rusted. I asked if we could just replace the rusted drain pan, it’s the back up mind you not the primary pan where the coils are, and he said that won’t help. I asked him what the back up pan had to do with the unit and he couldn’t give me a coherent answer. Then I asked him if the coil drain pan inside the unit was draining properly, he said “it’s dry” and that I can go “look for myself”. He never attempted to shop vac the drain lines for either unit, and I said “I guess I’ll just do that myself” even though I’m signed up on an ANNUAL MAINTENANCE PLAN. Be he was insistent on buying a new machine. Not friendly. Not polite. Just going through the motions. 2) Which brings me to my second complaint. About two weeks later, I went up in my hot ass attic to do the drain line maintenance with bleach and the shop vac, I know comical right since I’m paying for an annual maintenance plan? And lo and behold, I check the coil drain pan, and not only is there water in it, there are literal mushrooms growing in the water. I thought the tech told me the drain pain was dry? Well it wasn’t. So when I called polar air to complain, they gave me the runaround for three days, and said it was my fault because I didn’t pay extra for a coil cleaning last year. Idk, maybe I’m stupid, but when I used to do ALL the maintenance myself. I never had mushrooms in my drain pan. And if the pan had been draining properly, mushrooms wouldn’t be growing there. And if the maintenance was done properly, the pan would have been draining properly. So turns out I did 2-3 years of maintenance with these guys and they were only “servicing” the backup drain line and drain pan, and not servicing the important one, and then telling me everything is fine, and I’m going to need to get a new machine soon. Yeah no duh, if my coils are sitting in mushroom soup for a couple years, I bet that will lead them to rust further and fail. So, DO NOT sign up for the annual maintenance plan. It is a scam. They do nothing but the bear minimum, recommend services when their inadequate maintenance causes problems, and try to scare you into buying a new system before you actually need one. What, a, joke.”
“House wouldn’t properly cool, so called Polar Air after seeing their truck in my neighborhood. Came out, did some tests, found the leak, gave me a clear estimate and discussed availability of parts and timeline. Called the day before to confirm and called again day of to let me know when the tech was about 30 minutes out. Olson showed me exactly the part that had failed and was patient with my questions. Will definitely use in the future.”
“Polar Air responded to our AC issue within hours of our request. The technician was professional and gave us several options. We did decide to replace our unit and it was completed the next day. The customer service and follow up was excellent. Highly recommend this company!”
“I have been relying on Polar Air for the maintenance of my air conditioning and furnace systems for several years. When it was time to replace both units, they acted swiftly and efficiently. Their quote was competitive, and they managed to procure the units and schedule the installation just a couple of days after I gave the go-ahead. On the hottest day of the year so far, the Polar Air team arrived on time to install both units. They were extremely polite and kept me informed about the progress throughout the day. Their professionalism and courtesy were impressive. Additionally, Polar Air has made follow-up calls to ensure that my new systems are cooling effectively. I initially chose Polar Air based on strong recommendations from friends who praised their honesty and excellent customer service. True to their reputation, Polar Air has consistently demonstrated these qualities.”
