HVAC Contractor · Houston, TX
About
Sears Appliance Repair works in Houston, TX on HVAC systems and major home appliances. Their technicians handle air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, ovens and dishwashers across brands such as Whirlpool, Samsung, LG and Kenmore. They cover neighborhoods including West Oaks, Briar Village, Alief, Mission Bend, the Energy Corridor and Westchase with service listed from early morning through late evening every day.
Reviewers describe air conditioners that quit running and get fixed when technicians like Vance replace start-stop capacitors on the spot. Microwave turntable motors get replaced by Jaydip Patel. Dryers that squeal or stop receive attention from Mark, who restores operation. Heating systems receive service that leaves customers satisfied. Other calls involve refrigerator diagnosis that stretches over weeks without a fix, dishwashers that fail again soon after a visit, and drain pump estimates that customers reject after finding cheaper parts elsewhere.
Appointments run from six in the morning until ten at night across all seven days. Same-day slots appear as an option on their schedule. Reviewers note technicians such as Roman and Jaime arrive inside the stated window and finish work the same afternoon in some cases, yet others report time slots shifted without notice, long waits for parts or callbacks, and automated phone systems that block direct contact with staff. Upfront pricing shows up in some quotes, and service stays inside the Houston area.
The business carries a Google rating of 4.1 from 570 reviews. Reviewers often mention technicians who arrive prepared, explain steps and finish jobs cleanly, while also noting repeated scheduling changes, slow diagnosis on appliances and trouble reaching anyone beyond the automated line. DIRT Score 3.9 from reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“My experience with Sears Home Services was extremely disappointing. It took over two weeks just to diagnose my Samsung refrigerator. After multiple visits and delays, they still were unable to repair it. The most frustrating part wasn't even the failed repair—it was trying to get customer service. I spent hours trying to reach a live representative, but the AI phone system made it virtually impossible to speak to an actual person. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get past the automated system. I had already paid $750 in advance for the repair, but after weeks of waiting, poor communication, and no resolution, I finally gave up and hired a Samsung-authorized repair company instead. They diagnosed the problem quickly and were able to move the repair process forward. Sears Home Services wasted my time, left me without a properly functioning refrigerator for weeks, and made it nearly impossible to get help when I needed it. I cannot recommend them based on my experience.”
“Vance turned up right on schedule and set straight to work on an AC unit that simply quit working. He diagnosed the problem (start-stop capacitor failure) and fixed it with parts he brought with him in minutes. Very professional. Very efficient. Very friendly. Wish every service technician met the expectation standard Vance just set. Absolutely the best service response ever in more than 60 years of dealing with repair companies and technicians.👍”
“I will say my repair man was very nice and worked fast. However, he was not a good communicator and I do not feel like Sears honors, the policy they have posted online in conjunction with what my repair man told me. My dryer was drying just fine, however it started squealing a bit. I looked up the problem online, and it said it just needed to be greased. I contacted Sears and was told the diagnostic went towards repairs. When the technician got there he told me he was just going to charge me for routine maintenance and it would be better since all he had to do was greece, the part. He took the dryer apart super quick and sprayed grease on the part and then put the screws and stuff back in. After telling me he was going to charge me for routine maintenance, I only imagined I was either going to get charged for routine maintenance only or the diagnostic fee alone would have covered the routine maintenance, either way I would have been fine with. When it came time to pay, he told me it was $325 to spray, some grease on a part in my dryer. Then, he said, he has to charge the diagnostic fee, and also for routine maintenance because he just sprayed greece on it and there was no part need”
“Mr. Jaydip Patel was very patient & soft spoken gentle men with a smile on his face. Was very professional & got the work done in a timely manner. Thank you for replacing the turntable motor of our Kenmore Elite convection microwave.”
“Straight trash. Would have gave no stars if possible. No diagnostic. He took 5 minutes and copy pasted a report stating drain pump/filter assembly. Told me that would be 690 before taxes for the repair. Talk about price gouge for 79.00 ge oem part next day shipped for a tilt and 2 screws and 2 hose clamps with line obstruction. Now keep in mind I called knowing I am to paying for convenience and wasn't home. I declined the work paid the diagnostic called another to find my machine is covered under warranty as the drive motor is out and drain pump repair would of done nothing but drive up the bill. No professionalism at all and tech was a joke and my wife even called him out for sighing and muttering under his breath a lot and just general rudeness.”
“Service was good. Your scheduling was bad. First, you told me 10-12 then you changed it without telling me. I had to call to find out the new time. By changing times without notifying me ruined most of my day.”
“I\nWas very impressed with your technician. He was very knowledgeable.\nAnd thorough. He was very pleasant. I would highly recommend him to anyone.”
“Technician very respectful and knowledgeable. However, scheduling of the service needs a lot of improvement. It’s not the same sears tha I have known for service anymore. My appointment got pushed back every week. Use AI all you want. But get some glitches out.”
“My serviceman did a fantastic job. He was efficient, thorough, and extremely polite. He explained what he was doing and was very professional. I can’t remember his name but would like for you to check your record and give him credit for this review. He certainly deserves it. Thank you.”
“First off, the app stated michael the technician would arrive by 842am, he did not arrive until 930am The technician stated damage to refrigerator bin was cosmetic instead of what it truly is, and that is functional damage. if a bin is cracked and cannot hold items, how is it cosmetic? and because of how he relayed this to the insurance company, they denied the claim. too bad you can't do zero stars on this review”
“He arrived during the window of time. Roman was polite, professional and informed me how long the job would take to complete.”
“Terrible service. less than a month later my dishwasher is not working again, the same issue and I cannot get someone from Sears Repair to talk to me and let me know what to do, they want me to pay a Service Fee again for something that they already suppose to fix. By the way the computer on the calls sucks! GET A HUMAN TO TALK TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“Mark was friendly and professional and did an outstanding job getting the DYER back online.”
“Technician Jaime did a great job on our AC. He had to go pick up a motor 20 minutes away and still got everything fixed and blowing cold in 1 afternoon. Great Work!!”
“Had I known how difficult it would be to contact a live real person, I would never have contacted Sears appliance repair. I contacted Sears repair last Friday and scheduled an appointment for Monday between 1:00 and 5:00. On Sunday evening I received a text message from someone named Richard who started asking me for information and said that they wanted to make sure that they had the right part. Very quickly I figured that I was talking to and AI bot, and not a live person. Every question they asked me I had already answered at least once if not twice. They claimed they wanted to have the right part when they showed up for the repair. Here. I am, silly Old me, thinking that on Monday they would show up with a part and do the repair! On Monday someone showed up, of course with no part. They showed up over 2 hours late from my scheduled appointment time. In 30 seconds they told me what the issue was and that they needed to order a part and would have it shipped to me. I scheduled the installation for Friday between 1:00 and 5:00. The part arrived in a couple of days and on Friday morning they sent an email telling me I had to reschedule the appointment. I made the appointment sev”
“If I could given them a zero I would. I had a repair of a washer and a refrigerator in the last month or so. Their technicians throw parts at the problem rather than perform troubleshooting and a correct diagnosis. One tech never took out any tools or opened any panels or even touched the appliance. No 2 techs come to the same conclusion. But they all order parts and run. There is no corporate phone number to reach a person. All automation with no options to talk to a person. The technicians work like they know you can't even complain about them. This is the only way l've found to voice my frustration. Steer clear of A&E!!!”
“The repair guy was knowledgeable, kind and did amazing job with our central heating system. Very please with him and his work.”
“The technician was great. Part did not work and I am still waiting on a refund. I have spoken with several and they say it is pending. I have been waiting sine April 3rd. I am really disappointed. It only took 5 minutes to come out of my account. Just unbelievable. After the owner suggested I contact them. I was still given different phone numbers. I even went looking for the address. Couldn't find it. Just so disappointed. Just would like to receive what is owed to me.”
“Mark C. Was an Excellent Tech! Our washing machine now “purrs like a kitten”…He was very thorough and made sure everything was in order before he left! He was also very friendly and asked if we had any questions. Thank you for an exemplary employee! Hats off to Mark! FIVE Stars for Mark! A Happy Customer, Rita Sharp 😊👍”
“Josh was very polite, on time, very informative and professional. I thank God for his kind spirit.”
