Tom Bloodgood Company Inc
HVAC Contractor · Houston, TX
About
Tom Bloodgood Company Inc is an HVAC contractor based in Dallas, Texas. They focus on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning work for residential properties in the area. Dallas experiences hot summers that put heavy demands on cooling systems and occasional cold snaps that require reliable heating. Homeowners in the city often deal with system breakdowns during peak seasons due to the climate. The company handles service calls for these types of issues as part of their trade focus in the local market. The firm works on both new installations and ongoing maintenance to keep systems efficient amid the varying weather conditions found in North Texas.
They schedule HVAC service visits across Dallas homes but run into frequent problems when customers attempt to cancel before work begins. One customer requested a cancellation and refund on December 19 for a service that never started, with a promise of return within seven business days that did not happen, followed instead by a contract sent for signature. Other cases involve waits for refunds on canceled memberships or services stretching well over a year, along with quick closures of related complaints despite presented evidence. The company appears to offer standard repair and maintenance options typical for local cooling and heating needs but shows patterns in how cancellations are processed.
Customers have pointed to repeated shortfalls in communication around refunds and complaint handling that affect overall trust and value. These issues around price returns and response times appear consistently in feedback without offsetting notes on speed or quality of actual work performed. The low score reflects those patterns across many reviews rather than any standout strengths in service delivery. DIRT Score 3.32 from 343 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Review: Beware of this company. I requested a cancellation and a refund on December 19th for a service that never started. They promised the refund within 7 business days, but weeks have passed and I have received nothing. Instead of returning my money, they sent me a contract to sign after I had already cancelled. Very unprofessional business practices. Do not recommend.”
“We strongly disagree with the way this organization handles complaints against small businesses. It is concerning that anonymous and unverified individuals can publish allegations that negatively impact a company's reputation without being required to provide sufficient evidence or verify their identity. A business's reputation is built through years of hard work, investment, and dedication to its clients. Allowing unverified complaints to remain public without proper scrutiny creates an unfair environment for business owners who have worked tirelessly to earn the trust of their community. We believe every complaint should be evaluated based on documented facts, objective evidence, and accountability from all parties involved. No organization should act as judge and jury based solely on one-sided allegations. We stand behind our services, our contracts, and the work we have performed for our clients. We will continue to defend our business against false, misleading, or unsupported claims and will pursue appropriate channels to protect the reputation we have worked hard to build.”
“Extremely disappointed with the lack of integrity at this BBB branch. They closed a fraud case in under 25 minutes despite clear, physical evidence of a merchant attempting to extort a customer to delete a review—a direct violation of the Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA). Furthermore, they have ignored my Certified Mail (signed for on 3/16) for two weeks. If you are a consumer looking for justice, do not count on this office; they appear to be shielding fraudulent business practices rather than upholding their own standards. This matter has been formally reported to the Texas Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division (Case ID on file) for administrative negligence and bad faith.”
“Still waiting for a refund of $120 for canceling BBB membership well over a year ago! I was assured I could give 30 day cancellation BUT apparently my membership was a minimum 1 year. Still standing by…”
“I do not recommend this company for any job. Here's my story: in December, my car broke down and we had it towed to their shop. After inspecting the car, they determined it needed a transmission, which they quoted at just over $5,000. We paid the full amount upfront, and after two weeks later, the car was supposedly fixed. However, it stopped working again after 2 days, and we had to pay $250 to have it towed back to our house; someone came and picked it up to take it back to their shop. They picked it up at no charge, worked on it for another three weeks, but the car stopped again, this time on the freeway. I had to pay another $250 for a tow truck, and since then, I've been taking Uber to work. When I called to request a loaner, they told me there was none. To get the car back to the shop, I would have to pay $180 for towing instead. I'm fed up with paying for towing and Uber with no resolution or loaner in sight. Their customer service has also declined significantly. I plan to contact the Better Business Bureau”
