About
Honeycutt Mechanical Solutions is based in Tyler, Texas and specializes in HVAC services for local homeowners and property owners. Their work covers air conditioning repairs and maintenance on systems like Trane units that were installed years ago. In this part of Texas the heat can push equipment hard so they get calls for quick fixes on cooling problems. The team responds to issues such as units that fail during summer or drainage lines that back up and cause water to collect in the auxiliary pan. They have handled installations and ongoing repairs on residential setups across the city.
When a call comes in for an AC that won't drain or cool right they send a technician such as Liam to the site. One case involved a property with an immediate cooling issue where the crew arrived the following day and sorted it out without delay. They perform summer tune ups on systems and address water buildup in auxiliary pans that fails to flow down the main drain line. Installations of new Trane units from 2019 have led to repeat repair visits when those systems break down repeatedly. The work focuses on getting the equipment running again through part replacements and basic maintenance checks that homeowners request during hot months.
Customers keep coming back because the technicians show up promptly and get the cooling systems working again in short order. Reviews highlight the quick turnaround on repair jobs and the skill of workers like Liam who handle the technical side well. Some mention that the scheduling and office communication could use improvement since details on what a tune up includes don't always come through clearly at first. Overall the speed and quality of the on site work stand out across the feedback received. DIRT Score 4.3 from 65 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“I want to give a huge thank you to Honeycutt Air Conditioning in Bellville, Texas. One of my properties had an AC issue that needed immediate attention, and after calling one afternoon, they were out the very next day and had the problem fixed quickly. I can’t express how grateful I am to have this level of service available. They made the entire process extremely easy, communicated well, and their pricing was very reasonable. It’s hard to find companies that are dependable, responsive, and genuinely care about their customers, but Honeycutt Air Conditioning exceeded my expectations. I will confidently refer them to anyone needing HVAC services. Caitlin, Spencer, Steve and the entire team, thank you for providing such an amazing experience. We truly appreciate you.”
“I am only writing this review as we just received a call from Honeycutt requesting a review on the technician, Liam. Liam was great and earned a 5 STAR. We were never asked to rate the office and the scheduling process and their execution. I scheduled the first attempt to have a summer tune up with an arrival from 9 am to 12 noon. I received a text at 12:30 pm stating technician was on his way. At 2:30pm with no technician arrival, I called the office and was told he went to another home and he would be arriving at 4 pm. I rescheduled for the following week and asked for a specific arrival time and not a window of time. The 2nd attempt for the summer tune up was scheduled for 9 am. By 9:15 and no technician, I called the office. I asked why the office does not communicated with the client on changes in arrival times as we take a scheduled time slot off work. I was told they have many technicians and the phones to worry about and it’s the technician’s responsibility to keep us updated. I also spoke to the owner and he stated he didn’t really know what to say and they would try to do better. I understand schedules changes and emergency AC needs during the hot Texas months. All I ask, and I am sure many others, just keep true to the scheduled time slots or have the curtesy to keep your customer updated.”
“Would give ZERO stars if I could. I called needing help with AC. Explained I had the auxilary pan full of water and it was not draining down main line. I needed something done, explained by office it was best to have a tune up. I asked what is in a tune up. She couldn't tell me but the tech would be able to. Scheduled that. They never notated the water issue on my account. Tech came out did not resolve water issue, "did a tune up" gave me $$$$ recommendations for stuff I didn't really need at the time. Then told me my system is old and needs replaced. So why recommend this other stuff if my system just needs full replacement? Water was still not draining, felt like something was off. No one answered when I called back. Called another company. When the other company came out I found Honeycutt tech did nothing about main drain line clog, it was visble to the tech and me right away, they cleared the issue and water started draining as needed. Tried to call Honeycutt back again, repeatedly no answers. No VM. Finally talked to manager today. Long argument later, I got what I paid for essentially, "a tune up" and that they will take a tech word over a customer. Certainly wouldn't take another company word for anything even if I personally saw the clog. If its not in writing with them don't bother asking them to honor anything you are told verbally. The office did not notate I called about drainage and water issues, the tech didn't notate anything other than they made sure main line was clear, which he did not. But don't take my word for it. I am out $285 for a service that only caused me more stress and anxiety than I needed for this issue. Would not recommend this company to anyone. As you can see from their reply, the customer is not right. Calling me dishonest.. really… I went elsewhere because obviously I knew something was wrong. I was right, there was a problem. If you do work with them better check your fine print and record your conversations because they won’t honor a single thing and will make you look to be the problem. Here’s my call history from just my cell phone, I did call. Here’s the blockages your so called tech said he didn’t find.”
“Honeycutt installed 2 new Trane units when we purchased our house in 2019. One of them must have been built on a Friday/Monday because it has broken several times. Each time, Honeycutt has repaired the unit (only parts are covered after the inital warranty period). I have been very happy with their service. The past few years I had meant to set up a service contract but something always seemed to come up in life to distract me. I finally got on a service contract with them this year. They came out in the spring and inspected the units. Life was good. Now the heartbreaking part. I was out of town and my wife called them because the historically trouble-free unit stopped working. I suspected a capacitor because the problem unit has had several of them go out. In the past, we were charged for the trip fee and the capacitor. This time was different. The capacitor was bad, as I suspected, and there was a short in the "testator" according to the tech's notes. Breakdown of my bill: Trip charge: $160 Capacitor replacement: $198 Fixing the short: $113 Grand total: $471 Those capacitors are about $30 and I'll be generous and say that the wire cost $5. If they marked up their parts 100% that would be about $70 in parts. That leaves about $400 in labor. The tech was at my house for 40 minutes. I have been a loyal customer for 6 years and extremely happy with Honeycutt's service. I've recommended them to several people. Unfortunately, I can't afford $10/minute for A/C service calls ($600/hr). So, with a huge sense of disappointment/loss, I will be searching for a new provider. Update: Honeycutt didn't honor their service contract so I'm going down to 1 star.”
“We had our 2 existing hvac systems replaced the whole experience was amazing. Spencer was super good at communicating and answering any questions we had they even got everything put in way ahead of schedule from original estimated date. They also had the best pricing in the area”
