Igloo Refrigeration & Ac Llc
HVAC Contractor · Katy, TX
About
Igloo Refrigeration & Ac Llc operates as an HVAC contractor based in McAllen, Texas. The company handles air conditioning and refrigeration work for homeowners and businesses throughout the area. McAllen sits in the Rio Grande Valley where summers bring intense heat and humidity that run for months on end. This climate forces cooling systems to work hard and often leads to breakdowns or reduced efficiency when dust and moisture build up inside units. Local residents deal with these conditions daily and rely on steady service to keep homes comfortable without constant failures during the worst stretches of weather.
Their work covers installing new split systems and central units along with the electrical work needed to connect them properly. Crews also perform routine cleaning and maintenance to clear coils and filters that collect debris from the dry windy conditions common in South Texas. Indoor air quality jobs come up often because pollen and dust enter homes through open windows or leaky ducts. Technicians handle repairs on older equipment that struggles in the heat and help with upgrades to inverter driven models that run more steadily. Homeowners call for quick fixes when units stop during peak afternoon temperatures or when humidity makes indoor spaces feel worse than outside.
Feedback from customers points to inconsistent speed on service calls and variable quality once work begins with some jobs completed without issues while others require follow ups. Price perceptions differ based on the scope of repairs needed in this high demand market and communication gets mixed marks depending on how well updates are provided during longer jobs. These patterns across many reviews shape the standing earned through repeated real world HVAC demands in McAllen. DIRT Score 2.5 from 184 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“First time here and my experience was a positive one, and employees are very friendly. Check in offices is by dock 22 and food truck. There are 4 entrances and Shipper/Receiver entrance is D and when you leave youll come out of entrance/exit A. I arrived at 7am for a 14:00 appointment and received a dock within 10 minutes. Loading did take 3 hours but they pick the product once your docked. No restrooms available for drivers, but at least they have a food truck with good food. Plenty of room to safely maneuver around. There is a loves near by but it gets busy”
“Hit or miss at best I've picked up at this location and the location on the other side of I 10. This is the older of the 2 facilities. They have essentially the same check on system where you need specific numbers before being assigned a dock. The length of the wait is indeterminate. Could be an hour, could be immediately. Who knows? What i do know is, do not be late or your day is screwed. Make sure to park on the right between the blue lines and wear your Hi-Vis vest. The ladies who check you in are as helpful as you can expect. As with the location on Woods rd, they do not load pallets but boxes. Takes much longer than pallet loading. The shortest load time I have had is an hour and a half. This location has a food truck on site which is nice I guess if you trust food trucks. They also have a factory store which is kinda cool. Long wait times are the norm Get your appt/load/delivery numbers sorted ahead if time Have some Mexican while you wait or by a cooler or a new thermos”
“Delores in the recieving office is helpful and yes lived up to the office quote on the wall "patient". Great friendly staff!”
“Showed up on a Friday for my appointment. The Shipper was a Circus. A Very unorganized Zoo atmosphere. No places to park had to wait about 45 mins to get a spot to park then go check in. Not managed very well. And they need a bigger Shipper/Receiving warehouse. The Young Lady who checks Truck Drivers in when you first come to the window has a bad attitude and is rude. She needs to be replaced with someone more professional. This place goes on my do not return list. And I will not buy any Igloo products in the future. Get ready to waste your day waiting to get loaded.”
“I had a good experience here. I checked in at 7 AM for 12 noon appointment. They gave me a door right away. They didn’t start loading me right away. They knocked at my door at 11:40 So they could have me close my doors so they could seal it And then I went in and got my paperwork. I was leaving right Before noon. I had a drop off nearby at 3 AM and was grateful they let me in that I didn’t have to go find someplace to park. When approaching igloo on the left, Use the second entrance. There is a sign near the first entrance indicating ship/recv’g ahead, that is hard to see in the dark. But that second entrance does not open until 6:30 AM. There’s a food truck there with really good Mexican food. I got chicken Gorditas and they were awesome. I also got three tamales which I saved for later, Hours later after I got stopped at our truckstop for the day and pulled them straight out of the refrigerator and ate them cold and they were still good. And all of the employees are very nice. When I was standing in line with others at the food truck, One of the employees explained to me they have drop loads. Not sure what that means. That early in the morning, I was the only one there so if you were curious why they aren’t loading you When you’re the only one there, these drop loads take priority if you are earlier than your appointment. I was grateful to be out before noon, Especially after the bad reviewsI read.”
