About

Gateway Air Conditioning works as the HVAC crew based in Laredo, TX. They take on air conditioning jobs for homes across the area where the Texas heat keeps systems running hard most of the year. The outfit handles calls for repairs on existing units and full installations of new ones when older equipment fails. Local homeowners reach out for straightforward service on residential cooling setups that deal with the demands of the climate. Their days involve driving out to houses to check problems and get things working again without extra steps.

They send technicians such as Johnathon to jobs where he walks through exactly what he fixed on an AC unit and points out steps that could help it run better. Customers like Vince Tula noted the clear talk on their system while others such as Bebe Fowler said the crew answered questions and laid out the situation so the work felt solid. Installations of new systems happen in September or other months but sometimes require follow up when initial checks miss the real issue. Multiple techs get dispatched if the first visit does not sort out the cooling problem on the spot.

Homeowners give credit when technicians explain the work in plain terms and leave them sure about the unit status after a visit. At the same time repeated complaints point to misdiagnosed units that needed second trips plus installation jobs that left ceiling damage from poor measurements and long waits for warranty papers that never showed up. These patterns of mixed results on speed and follow through add up across the calls. DIRT Score 2.94 from 27 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Johnathon was excellent. Explained everything he did and discussed ways to improve my ac unit.

Had a wonderful experience with Gateway, had some questions, very informative. Made me feel very assured with what was going on. Thank you Gateway.

By far one of the most unpleasant experiences I have ever had. First they send me a tech who unfortunately lacked experience and misdiagnosed my unit. Then they send me a second tech who again gave us the wrong information as to what our problem was. I thought I had warranty which is the only reason I decided to give them a chance, after I found out I was responsible for payment I called everyone BUT them. Not worth the headache, save your time and money and call someone else.

I had a new system installed in September and have yet to receive the warranty paperwork I have been requesting repeatedly since (it’s been nearly 3 months). During the installation, they did not measure correctly and left an unsightly mess on my ceiling in their poor efforts to cover up the oversized opening they mistakenly made. Furthermore, despite my best efforts to have them coordinate on the project with my contractor, I have recently been informed that they installed it incorrectly and it must be moved in order to be serviced properly in the future. Once more, I called to ask when they are coming back to move it so I can enclose it and I have yet to hear back!

I wish i could put negative stars. These guys, the owner Tony and employee Victor don't care about customer service and their clients. I was told I needed a new AC Unit after my Condo was always reading 81/82 degrees. After they installed a new unit in my condo it would still get to 81/82 degrees. I had to call another company to check on the insulation and they actually went up to the attic and found there was a hole by the ducts. Victor and his crew never checked the ducts or attics before installing a new unit and charging us $5k for new unit. Supposedly "a one year warranty" comes with installation and sometimes my AC still gets to 81/82 degrees. I've called Victor multiple times so he or someone can take a look at the attic but no one ever shows up. Just do your research before you call someone and hopefully this review prevents another rip off and disappointment.
