About
Air Kon Service Inc handles HVAC work for homeowners across San Antonio, Texas. The outfit focuses on air conditioning and heating systems that must stand up to long hot summers and the occasional winter freeze that hits the region. Crews show up for both new installs and fixes on units that stop cooling or heating properly, often dealing with duct problems that make rooms uneven. Local houses frequently need attention to older systems that leak or fail under heavy use, and the company keeps trucks moving to address those calls without delay. They work on furnaces, condensers, and controls that homeowners rely on year round to stay comfortable indoors.
Technicians respond to thermostat issues where the unit refuses to follow programmed settings and instead needs manual operation, swapping parts or adjusting wiring to restore function without full replacement. They also install complete AC and furnace setups including Lennox models, then return for refrigerant checks and duct replacements that improve airflow throughout a house. Maintenance visits cover cleaning coils and testing performance so systems last longer in the Texas climate. Customers note techs arrive with photos sent ahead, explain the full scope on site, and handle jobs like new duct runs that fix hot spots in multiple rooms while keeping costs in line with the work done.
Homeowners consistently mention fast arrival after the first call, clear explanations of what needs fixing, and solid results that restore comfort without extra visits. Reviews highlight reasonable charges for duct work and repairs alongside professional conduct from start to finish, even when small accidents require follow up. Speed stands out when units quit during peak heat, quality shows in lasting fixes on controls and full systems, and communication keeps everyone informed with texts and details on the job. What Customers Say
“They installed my AC and Furnace last March(2019). Refrigerant leaked out every three month from AC. After one year, I still ended up a leaking AC system. We paid a brand new Lennox XC16 system that does not work. Horrible experience... It is 8/6/2023. After repairing a few times in 4 years, the AC still does not work, see the picture. After sending a tech here, the problem is never solved, 9/3/2023, see pictures.”
“I called Air Con because my thermostat would not run properly when set to Program (as opposed to Manual). The tech came out and said he could only get the thermostat to work when set to Manual and it would cost $800 for a new thermostat. I called another company and they promptly fixed the old thermostat. The tech took me into the attic to show me: 1. A badly leaning HVAC system that had been placed on top of inversely installed HVAC support stands (see pictures). The HVAC system is leaning toward the water line and I was warned the HVAC might break the water line and the HVAC system might fall over. 2. The HVAC system was only open to pulling air from one side, when it should have been open on both sides so it could pull more air. 3. The wiring had not been replaced when the new unit was installed, and official Lennox wiring practices were not followed (at a minimum the yellow and green wires were reversed). He said a permit must not have been pulled to install the unit, because it would not have passed inspection. We then went outside, where he showed me that the newer unit (installed about 2 years ago) was already leaking coolant.”
“Received call and text stating Technician was on the way. Photo provided. Very professional from arrival to departure. Detailed description of service provided. Reasonable price. Currently waiting for AIRCON to make good on repairs to my ceiling and stairs caused by technician accident. Will update review as soon as possible.”
“I could not be happier with the response time, service level, and comfort in our home! We have used Aircon services for both AC units as well as all new duct work! They do an awesome job, carry great brands, offer a maintenance service, and walk you through the entire scope of the job! It’s hard to find a contractor that you can know the quality of the work and the integrity in the completion is always present but this team is the real deal! Jacob was our installer and one of the most approachable and knowledgeable techs I’ve ever dealt with in any phase of home repair/ remodeling and I work in a sister industry.”
“I have always used Aircon to service my AC system for the past 20 years but now are owned by Champion and Nash. My AC system was not turning on so i called and was able to get an appointment quickly but the service was atrocious. 6 hours and 800 dollars later my system was not running and was told i needed to have electrician run a new thermostat wire and potentially wire running to outside unit. I called another local HVAC company and they came out and had the issue properly diagnosed in 20 minutes. The issue ended up being a faulty coil in the heat pump contactor. I was charged 800 bucks to replace a control board that was not even bad. I dont know what happened. Aircon used to be reputable. Severely disappointed and upset that i paid 800 bucks for nothing.”
