About

Cowboy Cooling operates as an HVAC crew based in Dallas serving homes across the city and the wider DFW region. They take on air conditioning and heating work for local properties where the weather swings hard between brutal summer heat and occasional winter freezes that strain equipment. The outfit handles both fresh installations of new units and repairs on older systems that homeowners rely on daily to stay comfortable. Technicians show up for calls about failed units or parts that give out after years of use, focusing on getting systems back online without dragging things out longer than necessary.

They install brand new AC units and return later to diagnose problems on equipment they put in years before, such as a four-year-old system that stopped cooling properly. Crews like the one led by Robert respond to emergency no-cool situations by checking components and swapping in a fresh capacitor on the spot to restore operation. The same team troubleshoots heater failures by ordering replacement parts after an initial visit and works through delays on those orders while keeping the customer informed through direct calls to staff like Lacey. This covers routine capacitor replacements, full system restarts after breakdowns, and follow-up fixes on units that quit shortly after installation.

Homeowners keep coming back because the crew moves fast on urgent calls, often arriving within the hour when an AC quits, and they deliver solid fixes that hold up on both new and older equipment. Customers note reliable quality from technicians who know the local systems and sort out issues without repeated visits, along with clear updates when parts run late. That steady performance on speed and results builds the track record that stands out. DIRT Score 5.0 from 86 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

would not recommend this company to any of my friends or family. We were assigned this company through American First Home Warranty to install a brand new AC unit. Within one week of installation, the unit completely stopped working. I attempted to contact Cowboy Cooling for three days using multiple phone numbers and received no response, despite having a 30-day installation warranty. Because we were without AC, had a baby in the heat, and had already paid $7,000, I was forced to contact another company for help. When Cowboy Cooling eventually responded, they stated they had been out sick with COVID. While I understand that illness happens, a simple text message or quick update would have gone a long way. Additionally, no one informed us that we were responsible for registering the manufacturer warranty on the new unit. That is something that should be clearly communicated to customers, especially those who have never been through this process before. Despite the 30-day installation warranty, there seemed to be no urgency or willingness to correct the issues. The second company found a broken motor and an exposed wire on a one-week-old unit that had been installed by contractors who were not certified. If you work hard for your money and $7,000 is a significant investment for your family, I strongly suggest considering other options. The lack of communication and compassion throughout this experience was extremely disappointing.

Great Service and Accommodation. Been a Gold member for years and Robert and his team is always on point. Had an issue with our 4+ year old AC unit that Robert and his team installed, and they were there to figure it out. Thank you to Robert and his team for supply excellent service and offering the AC service packages to do not have to worry about AC Tuneups, and everything else that comes with preventative maintenance that is needed.

Over and over and over again, I am so thankful that I signed up for services with Cowboy Cooling. AC went out last night and luckily it wasn’t terribly hot. I called them as soon as they opened in the morning and they were at my house within an hour and the AC only needed a new capacitor which was 100% covered so for zero dollars. My AC is back on!!! Thank you so much!

Frauds. Unprofessional. I had them come out to my house because my heater stopped working. The technician diagnosed it and ordered the part that the unit needed, I was told it would take one week to arrive. Well, one week turned into 3 1/2 weeks with no heat, no updates, unless I called Lacey myself. I tried to cancel and asked for a refund, but Lacey asked me not to and said she was going to make it right. So, after all the hassle and headaches I was told by Lacey that for all my patience and the inconvenience caused to me, I would receive a full refund, and they would still come and install the part. Well, that did not happen. The technician came and installed the part but there was no follow-up or refund issued by them. So, now I am in a battle to hold them accountable to their word. Hoping honesty and integrity will prevail! I don't want them to take advantage of any other hardworking Texan.

Great service! Came out quick and got the job done fast. Robert and Keith were so sweet and explained everything to me and took lots of pictures.
