About
Billy Ludwig A/C & Heating handles HVAC work for homeowners around Burnet, Texas. The company focuses on air conditioning and heating systems that must stand up to the long, intense summers and sudden winter cold snaps common in central Texas. Local houses often run their units hard through months of high heat and humidity, which leads to frequent breakdowns in older equipment and the need for reliable repairs or replacements. Technicians cover everything from routine maintenance to full system changes, helping keep indoor temperatures steady when the weather turns extreme. This kind of work requires crews who know the local conditions and can show up ready to diagnose problems on the spot without delay.
David and the team take on jobs such as installing mini split units, swapping out complete air conditioning systems, replacing furnaces, and upgrading ductwork. On one call the problem disappeared during the visit, so David skipped the consultation fee and returned later once the issue returned. Another job involved replacing an entire unit plus a furnace in the same year, with clear explanations of options and their pros and cons before any work started. Duct upgrades have improved airflow and lowered energy use, while mini split installs have been completed from the first phone call through final testing. These repairs target real failures like weak cooling, poor air quality, and inefficient heating that homeowners face in Burnet homes.
Customers keep coming back because the work holds up, calls get answered fast, and prices stay straightforward without surprises. Reviews highlight solid fixes on intermittent AC problems, better efficiency after duct changes, and honest updates on every step from diagnosis to completion. The same high marks appear for quick response times, clean results on unit replacements, and direct talk about costs and choices. That steady performance across dozens of jobs adds up to strong ratings in quality, speed, price, and communication. DIRT Score 4.81 from 29 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“I have used ACA in Bertram for several appliances at my former house, and this time called them in an attempt to shop local and keep myself out of the big box store. Dottie in the office made some good recommendations based on their years of service and I was able to order a new GE washer and dryer from them. Two technicians came and installed the new appliances, ensured all my questions were answered and hauled my older W/D off for me. I also use ACA for my annual A/C contract. Love shopping local.”
“Gavin and Kale came out and did our PM. They were super helpful, informative and seem to really love their job! Great company that are honest and really take care of their customers Thank you ACA”
“Took a few days for them to work me in and then were here about an hour and charged a $98 diagnostic fee. You get that back if you repair your unit (dishwasher) with them, so at that point you’re kind of held hostage. The part they replaced would have been covered by warranty, but they do not disclose the price of the part; only a flat fee for the total repair making it impossible for you to file a warranty claim for your part, since you don’t have a value for the part you paid for. Total time in my home was about 2 1/2 hours over two trips and the cost was about $430; less than $100 shy of a new unit. Very suspect way of doing business not breaking down the invoice by labor and parts. Will not use again.”
“This company is great! Called them on neighbors recommendation to check Dad's AC. Diagnosed bad rusty coils and no hard sell to sell anything else. I was impressed and had them check my AC that was barely cooling. Chad explained the issues and gave several options. Again, no hard sell!! I had whole unit replaced at reasonable cost and excellent service!”
“Called and had a technician out same day. Fast, honest, and great customer service. Unfortunately had to tweak my review slightly. We ordered the part that needed fixing and my husband installed it as opposed to paying them to purchase the part and then paying them to install.... during installation my husband has found that the back of the dryer is bent pretty good from the technician and a lot of the screws are not even screwed in. Outside of the damage to the dryer, other wise great.”
