About
First Class Restaurant Services Co. operates as a small HVAC outfit based in San Antonio, Texas, and handles commercial heating and cooling jobs across the state. With more than thirty-five years in the field, the crew focuses on restaurant and food service equipment rather than standard home systems. Their work covers installation of walk-in coolers and freezers along with XLP ovens, plus sales of HVAC units, commercial ice makers, and related oven gear. Homeowners and restaurant owners in the area often run into issues with these heavy-duty pieces breaking down during busy periods, and the company steps in for both new installs and fixes on that type of setup.
Technicians handle calls for urgent commercial toaster repairs and emergency HVAC service at restaurants, though the process starts with a diagnostic visit that runs around one hundred seventy-five dollars if no work follows. They also install and service ice makers plus oven equipment in spots like the HoneyBerry chain locations where Stephanie and her crew have handled multiple jobs. In practice this means driving out to check walk-in freezers or XLP ovens, quoting parts and labor on site, and trying to get the units running again without full replacements. Some jobs involve repeated trips when initial fixes do not hold, and the team sells new equipment when repairs look too costly for the customer.
Reviews show repeated problems with how the work gets done and what it ends up costing. Customers mention long waits for callbacks on emergency calls, charges for visits that leave the equipment still broken, and difficulty even getting added to the service list during urgent needs. Communication often falls short when technicians arrive, diagnose, and then report they cannot complete the repair yet still bill for the trip. Speed and follow-through draw the most complaints, with several owners saying invoices piled up without results. DIRT Score 2.77 from 16 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Avoid 1st Source Restaurant Inc. if you value honest pricing and communication. We called them for an urgent repair on our commercial toaster, but the experience was a nightmare. Initially, we were quoted a $175 diagnostic fee if we chose not to proceed with repairs. It then took three days of constant follow-ups just to get an estimate. When it finally arrived, the quote was over $1,300—nearly the exact price of a brand-new unit ($1,400) for a toaster that is less than two years old. When we predictably declined the outrageous estimate, they attempted to charge us $475. After we protested, they "adjusted" it to $330, but this bill still included labor charges for work they never performed. Their justification was that $330 is their "minimum charge" regardless of whether a repair happens, directly contradicting the $175 fee originally quoted. Their business practices are unfair and misleading.”
“Called for emergency service. Then received a call back that we weren’t on their client list so then they won’t send a Technician. Can’t get on the client list for the emergency call. Very poor customer service, was able to call Tech 24 and they responded quickly! Don’t bother with this horrible service company, you want someone that is reliable call Tech 24.”
“Stephanie and the crew are awesome. They take care of our HoneyBerry restaurants! Call them! Great work!”
“If you are a restaurant, do not call them. I have thousands of dollars in invoices and nothing ever got fixed. They charge you hundreds of dollars just to drive to your place of business and tell you they can’t fix it. Or tell you can and never do but still charge you.”
“Great service! Travis is well know in the Industry for his great knowledge, customer services and affordability, I highly recommend them.”
