About

Dan's Appliances runs as a heating and air conditioning outfit right in Lubbock, Texas. Located at 1618 Buddy Holly Ave near the intersection of Buddy Holly Ave and 17th St, the crew focuses on HVAC work for homes across the city. They deal with the demands of local weather patterns where hot summers push cooling units hard and cooler months require steady heating performance. Homeowners in the area often face breakdowns during peak seasons, and this team steps in to keep systems running without unnecessary delays or complications.

They handle appliance repairs alongside core HVAC services, including refrigerator fixes and washer issues that homeowners encounter regularly. One customer named Harry Choltko called early on a Monday morning after his refrigerator failed the day before Thanksgiving with a leak; the unit was delivered and installed by 12:45 that same day. Another case involved a KitchenAid model where Timothy Mccorkle ordered by phone using just the product number and had it installed in about two minutes without leaving home. Skye took initial calls on some jobs, though one review from Nicole Chicas noted a $200 charge to learn a refrigerator could not be fixed after proof of purchase was not checked. Sandra reported a noisy washer that a different repair person quoted at $1000 to fix, highlighting the value in getting accurate assessments upfront.

Customers keep coming back because the work shows solid speed on urgent jobs like holiday breakdowns, consistent quality on installations, reasonable pricing that beats high repair estimates, and clear communication from start to finish. Reviews mention friendly and efficient handling even on short notice, with outcomes that save time and money compared to other options in Lubbock. DIRT Score 4 from 38 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

I had a very disappointing experience with this company. I was charged nearly $200 just to be told that my refrigerator could not be fixed. When I first called, I spoke with an employee named Skye who said she would check my proof of purchase. She never actually checked it, nor did she explain that there were certain refrigerator issues they are unable to repair. If my warranty or proof of purchase had been reviewed, I could have been advised to contact the refrigerator manufacturer directly and avoided this unnecessary service call. Instead, a technician was sent to my home, stayed for about 15 minutes, and told me they could not fix the issue. I was still charged the full fee. I then tried multiple times to speak with the owner and was refused. When I finally went into the store, the owner was extremely rude, became angry, would not listen to my concerns, stated that “$200 is the price to step foot into a customer’s house,” and then walked away from me at the counter. There was no transparency, no accountability, and very poor customer service throughout this entire experience. I will not return to this business and would not recommend it to anyone looking for honest or professional appliance repair.

Very kind and friendly and very efficient service Love dealing with them. My refrigerator broke down the day before Thanksgiving thought I had it fixed it was not fixed it had a free on a leak went to dance it 9:15 on a Monday morning and at 12:45 my refrigerator is delivered and installed could not ask for better service. Highly recommend Dan's appliance. If you go to a big box store you are losing out. Dan service tops them all.

They made this process so easy! I did not even have to visit the store. I found what I liked on the KitchenAid website, I called, they asked for the product #, I ordered, they came and installed it. While they installed, which took like 2 min, we also found out they do the repairs. They are the one stop shop for appliances, sell and repair!

My washer was making all kinds of noises and off balance. So I called a washer repair person. $136 later and Him telling me, "you would be better off getting a new one. This repair will cost around $1,000." I should have known better by calling a repair person. We are on a fixed income. I went to a place in Vandergrift. When I walked in the lady wasn't friendly at all. I asked, "if by chance could this be delivered today?" She said, "if you came about 2 hours earlier..." Needless to say, I left. I googled another place, Dan's Appliances. Super nice people when I walked in. I explained to the lady what happened and I was looking to purchase a washer. The quickest it could be delivered was Monday. It was only a few more days to wait. She was so friendly and assured me the guys would be there between 10am and noon. I get a call shortly after 11 am, telling me they were on their way and would be here in 10 min. Less than that they arrived. Within no time they had my old washer out and the new one in testing it. They explained the Warranty. Very pleasant young Men. Would definetely recommend them!!!

Terrific staff, friendly and good prices.
