About

JD's Prompt Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning runs out of Brownfield, Texas. They focus on HVAC services but also take care of heating and full plumbing needs for residential customers in the Lubbock area and surrounding communities. Founded by JD himself, the company sticks to honest work and prompt responses for everything from air conditioning repairs to furnace maintenance. Local weather swings hard between extreme heat and occasional freezes, so reliable HVAC techs who show up fast matter a lot to folks keeping their homes comfortable year round without constant breakdowns.

On the job side they install and replace air conditioning units, repair heating systems and furnaces, set up Wi-Fi thermostats, and manage plumbing tasks from whole house repiping to drain clearing and slab leak fixes. Specific work includes Jason and a helper putting in a full 130 foot sewer line replacement that came out clean and on time while handling the city permits right. Technicians have also sorted out AC problems where heat was coming through the vents by late in the day and installed new garbage disposals with fast turnaround. They explain every part of the process and the costs upfront on jobs that cover two properties at once.

Homeowners praise the speed on getting out for AC troubles and plumbing emergencies, the solid quality that leaves no mess or callbacks, fair pricing that gets explained ahead of time, and clear talk from the techs on site. Names like Jason come up for handling big sewer jobs without issues, and overall the outfit earns trust by showing up evenings and weekends when needed. That steady record across HVAC repairs, heating maintenance, and related plumbing work adds up to the top marks they hold now. DIRT Score 4.91 from 265 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

In this episode of The Joys of Home Ownership... Last weekend, “The Boss” noticed the AC didn’t seem to be working correctly and said it felt like heat was blowing through the vents. Of course, as I often do, I assumed she’d lost her mind. Turns out, as is also often the case, I was wrong. By late Sunday evening, the house was getting noticeably warmer. I called JD’s Monday morning and scheduled an appointment for Friday morning (today), since we were going to be out of town during the week. This morning, I received a text letting me know the tech was on the way, and Jaren arrived shortly after. He was personable, respectful, knowledgeable, and professional. He listened to my concerns and immediately began diagnosing the issue. In less than an hour, he had identified the problem and the AC was back up and running. Apparently, the control board for the larger unit had failed and was activating the heating coils with the AC unit. The board failure was likely due to storm damage from around the same time the issue started. In full disclosure, we’ve now used JD’s several times, and they continue to impress. We’ll definitely keep using them in the future.

They have taken such good care of us over the years. We have two properties and they are able to service both for various hvac and plumbing needs. The customer service is wonderful they do a great job of explaining the process and pricing. This business has a heart for serving its customers and the Kingdom of God ❤️ will recommend them every time!

Jason and his helper did a 5-star job replacing a 130' sewer line. The workmanship was flawless as well as timely and they worked with the city effectively. The clean-up and trench backfill went well with no complaints. I would recommend these fellows any day knowing that they take pride in what they do and don't mind doing a days work... The price was reasonable as well...

Fantastic and fast service! Top notch customer service and superior skills! We are very happy with our new garbage disposal. Thank you so much!

I will never recommend this company to my enemies. They have some good employees but have very bad business practices. I called them to tell them about two outside faucets that were leaking. I told them that I had called a previous plumber who told me that both faucets needed to be replaced. But I wanted a second opinion about one of the faucets as I was able to fix one by tightening it by myself. They said they would send someone to come take a look at this. Two nice guys came the next day, looked at the faucet for 5 minutes, said that the faucet was better replaced, and left. I told them that I had home warranty insurance but they declined this. No one talked about a service call fee. Not on the phone and not in person. I later got a bill for $110 for a service call fee. I told them that I already had the faucet replaced by the previous plumber who accepted my insurance, but I would pay $75 for their opinion. They insisted that their service fee was $110. Later on, they sent me another bill for $121 because they started to add interest to this service call fee that was never mentioned when I called them. The company may have some good employees, but I would never recommend them because of their lack of consideration and money-hungry practices.
