“And so we just closed on our dream home a week ago, yay! It’s been an exhausting week moving out of our apartment, installing blinds, unpacking, etc., but we are so excited to finally be settled in our beautiful home! I am writing this review to share our experience with Treviño Construction. Choosing the right builder is an important decision you have to make early in the buying process. This review will be long but hope our experience helps you determine if Mario is the right builder for you! It all started when our little one was born. Our 3-bedroom apartment that used to feel so spacious suddenly seemed so small with the piling baby needs (stroller, baby room, playground, etc.). The lack of space and a yard were our primary motivation to buy a house even though the market was terrible. We started meeting builders at open houses and learned about their products. We had actually made a decision at home to sign contract with another builder but! That’s when we saw Treviño Construction social media uploading a home walk-through video promoting a new built. I am glad we picked up the phone that day. We were impressed with the home. It was luxurious and Mario was promoting his new packages! We had previously known about Treviño Construction but never approached them because well…. luxury means expensive and it was probably going to be more expensive than the rates from the other builders. Well, spoiler alert. Mario’s rate was actually very competitive and was the lowest cost per square feet. He’s not kidding around when he says you get your dollar’s worth. We met at his office and heard about his product. The first impression Mario made on me in that meeting remained true throughout. He has a lot of experience and knows the construction process so well that is able to offer an expedited yet quality based construction timeline. He built our home in 16 weeks. This saved us so much money in interest during the construction loan. The average turnover time we heard from other builders was 9 months so you do the math! He listens to your vision and needs. From the dimensions of the rooms to the color of the backsplash, to the irrigation system. He’s not afraid to make suggestions that he feels will improve the project. I encourage you to take some risks. One example of this is, ahead of the framing stage as we were selecting the ceiling designs he hand drew a design for the master bedroom. I am a very simple guy and for me it seemed very exotic, very complex, but we trusted him. I have loved that ceiling design since the day I saw it live during framing! He’s also very passionate about what he does and genuinely wants for you to build your dream home. The allowances we were given with our purchase were very generous. We got to choose what we wanted and never really struggled finding products within budget plus Mario has business relationships with suppliers so you get a better price at the stores. Lastly, he will lookout for the best interest to advance the project. That’s taking care of you! One example from our experience and this was really when he gained my full confidence took place ahead of a big rain. On Sunday, we visited the construction site and noticed that it was still in the framing stage with work to do. On Tuesday, I was on call with Mario, concerned about the rains for the following day, and asked him how many days would we get slowed down. He replied very relaxed and said “Hey, you don’t worry about that. Yo estoy cuidando tu casa hermano!” Well, it turns out that in just two days since we were out there the entire framing and shingle work had been done! I couldn’t believe it. And so, I am giving Treviño Construction 5 stars because they really did an amazing job building my home. The only problem that I see with the completion of it is that now I don’t want to leave it in the mornings to go to work jaja Mario is a man of his word, very fair, and transparent. loved that we never had to be behind Mario to get the construction moving. “I had my worst nightmare with Trevino construction worst person to hire for your home. I had days with no sleep, did not know what to do. I tried to look for a different company but he would not sign the release letter to terminate contract. My house took a whole year to be completed. He did what he wanted he did not follow my house floor plans, he changed everything the outside is completely different from what I wanted. Do not make the same mistake. They are a bunch of liars victor and Mario both.”
