Technicians such as Ray have been praised for methodically checking one factor after another to locate the root cause of speed or performance issues in home systems until the physical problem is resolved. Homeowners have noted solid results on jobs involving internet connections and router setups that were previously locked down and prevented proper adjustments like port forwarding or DNS changes. Others have reported reliable service with minimal disruptions over periods exceeding ten years, while some have pointed out frustrations with equipment limitations that led them to compare options from other providers for better control and value.

Customers consistently highlight strong communication and quality when issues arise, along with fair pricing on routine maintenance that prevents bigger breakdowns during peak heat. Speed of response stands out in reviews where techs arrive prepared and work through problems without unnecessary delays. What Customers Say

The internet service is decent. I was paying around $70 for 500 Mbps. I got a special from Spectrum, which is why I left. Spectrum offered 1 Gbps at $50 a month. My large complaint is that the GVTC provided router is COMPLETELY locked down. I was unable to manage port forwarding, DNS servers, or binding IP addresses. At one point I called tech support to set some of this up, but never got a call back. This is a huge headache if you want to manage anything in a home-lab. I admit, I could have bought my own network equipment and set the router in pass-thru mode, but I didn't want to drop that kind of money when every other ISP I have used allows you to manage the provided equipment. My BIGGEST complaint was when I wanted to cancel my service. I had to drive 35 minutes out of my way to this location to drop off my equipment and had the strangest experience. I walk in at 8am and asked the receptionist if I was in the Customer Support building. I am told "This is the only place you can enter,." There are multiple buildings at the site, so I wanted to make sure I was in the right place, and I didn't appreciate the snarky attitude. Then I had to wait 10 minutes for someone to talk to me. Why? I am just turning in a router. Why can't I just walk in, provide my info, and leave? It made no sense, and made the inconvenience of driving all the way there even worse.

Ray worked methodically this morning to triage our GVTC internet speed problem by eliminating this factor and that factor until he got to the physical problem causing our internet speed issue. HOORAY for Ray - the absolute BEST GVTC TECH sent to us!!! Step by step he went through all the logical tests and ah-ha - Ray found it!!! He changed out a technical part and now we have the GVTC internet speed we had purchased!!! We cannot thank Ray enough - timely, professional, methodical, cleaned up after himself, polite, thorough and kind to the customer. If you have a really challenging GVTC issue, Ray is the perfect person to triage and resolve for the best outcome!! Thank you, Ray - you are the man!!!

I’ve had very few outages with GVTC and when I do have a problem the customer service is excellent. I have internet with them for over 10 years now and very satisfied!

If you have other options for fiber internet directly to your home, I recommend exploring them before committing to GVTC. For reference, I had ATT fiber at my previous residence and my experiences were vastly different. To say I've been frustrated with the quality of the service they provide would be an understatement. I've had a ton of connection issues and the customer service has been friendly, but the level of service and knowledge the representatives possess varies. As an example, I'm currently dealing with a situation where there is confusion regarding my account having a static IP versus DHCP. The customer service representatives have been friendly but unable to resolve the situation.

Called GVTC Technical Service to get help to use their modem without my separate router. Isaiah walked me through configuring the modem to use its internal router. It took all of 15 minutes, and it works perfectly. He was very professional and courteous throughout the telephone call.
