HVAC Contractor · Ochiltree County, TX
About
Bob Jays Of Perryton runs HVAC work across Ochiltree County, Texas, with crews that also handle plumbing and commercial refrigeration on both sides of the state line. Jey Hinshaw grew up right in Perryton, finished high school in 2005, and picked up his first air conditioning license in 2008 before adding Oklahoma mechanical credentials and a master plumbing license later. He bought the company in 2017 after working his way up from low pay and has kept the business fully licensed and insured for service calls in either state. The shop stays busy with local homeowners who need reliable heating and cooling in the Texas panhandle climate.
Technicians like Jay and Jey handle everything from quick AC repairs to full system installs. One customer thirty miles out got a call ten minutes before arrival and watched the unit get fixed and running inside thirty minutes. Another called after other outfits offered no help, and Jey arrived in half an hour to lay out replacement options plus payment plans, with the new system in and working by early the next day. Bigger remodels get the same treatment, with crews delivering clean installs on a ninety thousand dollar job that left the homeowners satisfied after earlier bad phone experiences. They show up on time, explain the problem in plain terms, and finish without extra trips.
Homeowners in Ochiltree County keep giving strong marks for how fast the crew responds and gets units back online, whether it is a same-day appointment or a quick drive out from Perryton. Reviews highlight clear communication on costs and options plus solid work that holds up on both small fixes and larger replacements. That steady performance on speed and quality adds up across the board. DIRT Score 4.07 from 25 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Spoke with Jay and we immediately set an appointment for the next day that would work with my schedule. Being that I lived 30 miles away he called me about 10 mins out before he arrived. He quickly got to work and had my unit back up and running within 30 mins. Once it came to the bill it was well within my budget and he also worked with my mileage. I highly recommend these Jay and his staff.”
“I had a less than stellar experience on the phone some years back, bad enough that I chose to leave a less than stellar review - 1 star. Fortunately, since then, things have changed. Later, I called called them in to help with a $90k home remodel. Their products and services were first rate. They did what they said they'd do when they said they would do it. Jey's professionalism is a big reason I changed my opinion. He grew up here. He knows and loves our community and, as the new owner, is absolutely committed to great service.”
“100% recommend they are FAST we wish we would’ve gone with them in the first place”
“Called Bob Jay's after dealing with others who couldn't help us with are A/C unit or give us any options. Jey came to the house 30 min later, explained the problem thoroughly and gave us the options we had to replace the system and payment options. They had our A/C unit installed and running by early Monday afternoon. Jey and his crew are very polite, efficient and awesome at their jobs. Their prices are very reasonable, they did a great job and cleaned everything up whch most companies don't do these days. We are very happy with the service we recieved and highly recommend their company for any and all heating, air and plumbing needs! Thanks Bob Jay's!”
“Called Bob Jays to repair a noisy blower motor in a rent house. I asked that technician call me about repairs. I did hear from him after repairs had been made, he suggested that after replacing blower motor a circuit board had been 'blown out' by a 'power surge'. He did say he thought it would be under warranty. Then I got the bill...no mention of a circuit board, no mention of warranty, no mention of anything except further repair to the unit because it wasn't 'cooling' because of a solenoid failure in a "30 year old unit". Talked to Jay about being overcharged and the more he talked the madder I got. This company or it's representative did not contact me about making repairs to get the air conditioning to function. It's bad business to charge for unauthorized repairs and then make excuses for why you were billed. UPDATE: And now that first cool weather has arrived, and I paid the bill in full (not because I wanted to) the heating unit is inoperative. Further demonstration of utter incompetence. I could have purchased a BRAND NEW AIR HANDLER HEATING UNIT for less than 70% of the repair bill.”
