About

Westside AC Heating and Refrigeration operates out of Odessa Texas as a local HVAC outfit that handles heating cooling and refrigeration jobs for homes in the area. They take on installs repairs and maintenance for systems that deal with the extreme swings in West Texas weather from summer heat to winter cold snaps. The crew works on both standard air conditioning units and older swamp coolers that many houses still rely on around here. Homeowners call them for everything from full replacements to quick fixes when equipment stops performing in the middle of a season.

Their work covers furnace replacements AC installs and tune ups along with getting swamp coolers back online. One job involved putting in a new furnace that started shutting off and leaking right away requiring multiple trips between January and April without a lasting fix. Another project had technicians complete an AC install where they walked through every step and left the setup running properly. Office manager Dianne handled coordination on a job that got both an AC unit and a swamp cooler operating without holdups while a different service call for an AC tune up left the upstairs unit down and needing extra freon from a second contractor to get it going again.

Reviews show some customers liked the quick responses and clear explanations during installs while others ran into repeated service visits that never sorted out basic problems like leaks or shutdowns on new equipment. The mixed results point to solid communication in certain cases but inconsistent fixes on heating and cooling systems that left homeowners dealing with the same issues into the next season. What Customers Say

We had our furnace replaced in Jan 2025. It is Nov 2025. Since the day they installed it it shuts off and leaks on us. They had to come out several times from Jan to Apr and couldn’t get it right. Now winter is just starting and they have already been out twice and still can’t get it to work right. The customer service lady from El Paso was horrible to deal with. This whole ordeal has been a joke. If I did this at my job I’d be fired so fast it aint funny

I recently had my AC installed by Westside Air Conditioning, and the service was outstanding. The technicians were prompt, professional, and highly knowledgeable. They explained the entire process clearly and ensured everything was installed to the highest standards. The team was courteous, leaving the workspace clean and tidy. Since the installation, my home has been perfectly cool, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I highly recommend Westside Air Conditioning for their exceptional service and expertise. Thank you so much Kim and MARO!

Dianne was amazing to work with. She is the office manager and the technicians and employees were extremely professional and did great work. They were very responsive and helpful and got my ac unit and swamp cooler working with no delays. They were so very communicative and I would highly recommend this company for all of your AC and swamp cooler needs! 🙌💪👍👍👍👍👍

Contracted through American home shield. They came out for an A/C tuneup after which the upstairs unit stopped working. Worked fine before they tuned it up. They stated it needed freon to which I had to pay another 100 to get American home shield to send out another AC contractor to fix it since that is not part of the tuneup. Unfortunately they are sending out Westside air conditioning again. While this sounds like a complaint with American home shield, I would like to reiterate that the unit had no problems before they came for the tuneup. 07/18/2025 Update: I have had to have Westside AC come out for the 3rd time. Despite the first two visits and replacing parts they are now claiming it is a different part. The lady on the phone called to collect the 320 dollar payment for the part that is now not covered. I expressed my concern that they replaced parts already and also filled the freon saying both times that those were the issues, and that if they are going to charge me, this needs to be a fix as I don't need my tenants constantly loosing AC. Also, that I don't need someone who is going to replace parts until something hopefully works working on my unit. I said I would pay but these needs to fix it. The representative who was a female continued to take a condescending tone and said "Parts fail one after the other, it's a domino effect". So I guess it's just my luck of the draw that they fixed the same issue two other times and it's just been something different causing it each time. She started speaking more aggressively telling me how I could take it up with American Homeshield and how they fixed it both of the first times and she just works in the office. I believe this company is doing the same thing I've experienced in the past at least from my opinion, which is replacing parts but also looking for places which warranties don't cover to make additional money directly from the customer aside from what they're already making from American Homeshield. I also had this happen with a plumber in El Paso in the past. In my career if I order parts and charge a customer for something that doesn't fix a problem, especially multiple times, I would be relieved of my position. If they can't fix an issue on the first try then they need more qualified technicians that can identify a system has multiple components needing to be replaced at once, instead of making 3-4 visits replacing a new part each time hoping it fixed the issue instead of properly diagnosing and knowing.

Our recent experience with the AC repair company was unsatisfactory. Prior to their arrival, our AC was functioning adequately. However, upon their departure, the AC was completely shut down, leaving our home at temperatures exceeding 90 degrees Fahrenheit. During the summer months in El Paso, Texas, a dysfunctional AC is extremely uncomfortable for both individuals and families. I contacted the repairmen to request that they return to my home and restore the AC to its pre-repair state. Their response was that they could not do so due to the potential risk of the compressor exploding. They explained that the compressor was the primary cause of the AC’s inability to cool the house below the temperature we were experiencing before their arrival. However, I believe that the repairmen should have informed us that their assessment may have resulted in an extended period of higher house temperatures. My home was over 90 degrees Fahrenheit for more than a week while I was waiting for the necessary replacement parts. The company that was assigned to our repair request was Westside AC was not to my liking. I had considered terminating our contract with them and seeking a different company, but AHS informed me that this was not possible since the request is still open. Consequently, my family and I were at the mercy of the company’s timeline for receiving the parts, which was over a week. If I had been aware that the compressor would be the primary cause of the AC’s inoperability, I would have requested a different company. Additionally, we were required to pay an out-of-pocket expense of $412 for refrigerant. Upon reviewing the company’s reviews, it appears that removing the compressor and adding refrigerant is the "Go To" remedy. Consequently, this is also the most expensive option. In my opinion, AHS should discontinue its relationship with this company. It seems that they are taking excessive liberties with their assessment in order to maximize their profits. As compressors are the most expensive component to replace in any AC, this practice is unacceptable.
