Words cannot fully capture how exceptional the food, service, and attention to detail are, all of which contribute to a cozy atmosphere during the cold winter, almost like being at home. Firstly, the service is outstanding; it ranks among the best we've experienced since moving to Thunder Bay, with friendly, smiling staff who attentively address any questions or special requests at the table. Secondly, both the service and the food are delivered quickly, which is impressive given the rich, complex flavours packed into each dish. It was unexpectedly delightful to find such delectable cuisine in a casual setting. “Went to Ngan’s last night for Valentine’s dinner and honestly had such a great experience. Our reservation was at 6 and everything moved super smoothly from the start. We ordered crispy wontons as an app and they were so good - hot, fresh, really light and crunchy without being greasy. I asked for hot sauce and they brought out a whole lineup of house-made chili oil, hoisin, sriracha, and their own hot sauce which was a nice touch. For mains we got the noodle bowl and the ramen, and they were on our table by about 6:20 which was impressive without feeling rushed. Service was quick but still really friendly, and our water glasses never sat empty. Ngan herself came by a few times to check in which made it feel really welcoming and personal. The space is modern and clean, and the food feels traditional but slightly elevated at the same time. Just overall really impressed by the speed, kindness, and quality of the food. If you’re looking for good Chinese food in Thunder Bay, definitely give Ngan’s a try. 10/10.”
