“In 2024 Atwell did maintenence on a Daikin mini-split in my small rural home near Angleton. Techician showed up near the time and was very polite. On the visit, he did some cleaning of inside portion of unit. Cleaned exterior portion. Identified broken parts which caused the vanes not moving. Atwell committed to ordering the parts. I called back several times over the next weeks and months, but they did not have the parts. Unit works without vanes moving. In the meantime, the unit needed cleaning again. So contacted Atwell to do maintenance on 05Dec25. Technician with phone number from AL Smith AC and Heating showed up on time, told me it was his day off and how he probably should not have stopped by the job Atwell was on and wound up being handed my work order. This technician did not want to be doing the maintenance on my mini-split was the message I got. The technician removed the dust filters and flushed them with the hose, told me the unit should not be getting dirty like this, wandered around my house looking at tightness of windows, admitted he had no repair parts for the veins and did not have info from Atwell about the parts order from 2024. He also stated he would not clean the inside unit without replacing the motor because he believed it would burn out once he did the cleaning. Never mind the fact the unit had been cleaned previously and motor was never impacted! I told tech, fine, replace the motor but get the machine cleaned. Then he said he had no motor. He also said he could not replace refrigerant if needed because outside temp was below 70F. Tech walked to his truck, came back and said he talked to someone at Atwell and said he was told to leave this job. So the Technician with AL Smith on his phone number abandoned job. I then called Atwell twice and left a text message asking if they intended to take my work or if they wanted me to go elsewhere for service and they have not responded. I cannot recommend Atwell or AL Smith at this point.”
