“Not sure which specific location we dealt with, but we had a terrible experience for the 2nd time. They are SCAMMERS. The first time the HVAC company came out just to do a simple maintenance check. Nothing was wrong with our AC, just routine checks. The guy ended up "fixing" something without ever discussing it with us and tried to charge us over $100 for "tightening a pipe." We told him that typically companies come and talk to the customer to explain what's going on first, then ask if we are okay with the cost and them proceeding. Additionally, we had warranty on it, so there would have been no need for us to pay out of pocket for anything to be fixed. We ended up having to talk to a manager to dismiss the charge. 2nd time- Yesterday a sub contractor was digging holes in the ground for a gate and hit a water pipe. We attempted to fix it ourselves and excavated the entire hole to expose the damaged pipe. Our fix wasn't holding, so we called Shafer's plumbing department. They came out and told us it would be $175 per hour, minimum 2 hours. No problem, we knew it would be done in that time. They then looked at it, "diagnosed" it, came back and tried to tell us it would take EIGHT hours and they would have to excavate more. They then said, "we can either work hourly for you and get started, or we can wait and give you an official quote." We opted for the official quote because 8 hours of work+ more excavation seemed ridiculous. They literally LEFT because we didn't just give in and pay hourly, which clearly would have been a money scam. We NEVER received a quote, and they NEVER returned to the site. Literally never heard from them again because we didn't fall for their SCAM. Will NEVER call them again. We called another company by the way. They came within an hour, did NOT need to excavate, and were done within 2 hours (even with cure time). HIGHLY ADVISE that and prospective customer checks all 1 star reviews. They are all extreme similar, which tells me that the 4 and 5 star reviews are not trustworthy, and unfortunately those people were scammed out of a lot of money probably.”

“We had an HVAC issue Friday night, July 3rd, It was hot. Shafer Services and DUSTEN were awesome. They were out to our house early Saturday, JULY 4th, morning to fix the issue and make sure we were comfortable for the rest of the weekend. Dusten was professional and super pleasant. Great job by Shafer and Dusten!”

So professional, knowledgeable and pleasant, how wonderful to have a company like this, with true dedicated professionals that know what they are doing. On a separate note, we joined the Shafer Services plus program and needed the services on a Saturday and John Baron came out quickly. A contractor had put a bathroom sink stopper in the day before and it became stopped up. He diagnosed the problem immediately, snaked the drain, replaced the pea trap and primary a/c line and installed a great working stopper. Another stellar professional. Thank God for ethical companies like Shafer Services. Many, many thanks.”
