“I have been a customer of Smith-Thompson for a year now after "firing" ADT and I couldn't be happier with the choice. Their service is fantastic and responsiveness is super. The monitoring center is great and very responsive when there are alarms. Last week one of the old sensors started to act up and I was to set up a technician visit very quickly and the very next day here was at home replacing the unit and checking the entire system. The technician in Austin is Cliff and he is so awesome to work with. Super knowledgeable and very diligent, a real pleasure to work with him.”

“I have been a customer of Smith Thompson for many years so when I bought a new house and needed HVAC work, I knew who to call. The first experience I had with their HVAC business was with Lemuel. Lemuel was very knowledgeable and offered lots of information that helped me decide on which system to install in my encapsulated attic and the special considerations for my application. A couple of weeks later I had a complete Lennox 18 SEER variable speed system installed. The installers RJ, Tito and Esteban showed up st 8:00 AM and worked all day (until 7 PM). They were very careful and professional and took the time to make sure the installation was perfect and it was. Everything was installed beyond my expectations - very tight and very high quality. Once the work was done, they showed me the system indoors and out, walked me through the exact work that had been done, explained how they built and sealed plenums, how the backup condensate drain runs, how the float switches work (condensate pipe and pan), advised me on ways to keep the pipe clear, even insulated the condensate line and went through the thermostat programming with me. At all times they made sure all my questions were answered (I had many and they were semi-educated ones). When they left my house I slowly walked to each room and realized that the system was cooling very evenly throughout, which was a major issue with the old system. And they did this installation for about 70% of what everyone else is charging. I love this company, a true gem among overpriced, flashy companies. I am supremely happy with Smith Thompson’s work and trust this company for all my HVAC work. They go above and beyond every time.”

“I’ve been a customer of Smith Thompson security for almost a decade now and have been extremely pleased with their service. I recently changed to Smith Thompson for my HVAC annual service and they just completed the first one. Emmanuel was on-time, extremely courteous and very thorough. He went above and beyond and even did things that my old company never did, like washing down the coils on my units. The only thing keeping this from being a five star review is their pricing for doing any additional repairs. Their pricing is significantly higher on everything they quoted me. $300 to replace a bad capacitor? Are you kidding me? My old company charged $175 to replace one, which is still too high and I usually ended up replacing it myself. It’s a $40 part and takes less than 5 minutes to replace so I don’t know where they are coming up with that outrageous price. Also, they quoted replacing a float switch and wanted $355 dollars. My last company was $100 less when they installed the float switch initially. I would highly recommend Smith Thompson for HVAC maintenance but, unless it’s a dire emergency, I would get a second opinion on any service that they quote you.”

He felt like part of my family while he was in my house, hooking up the system. “Smith Thompson has provided reliable and very affordable home alarm monitoring for 10 years. We just recently upgraded our service to allow us to manage our alarm remotely. The appointment was easy to set up. Technician was on time, VERY knowledgeable and replaced our older 4G transmitter with a newer 5G once he quickly determined there was a fault on the older device. He stayed long enough to make sure we were properly set up on the app and knew how to use it. The app is super simple.”
