What Customers Say
“Very disappointed with my experience. I had a Rheem air handler installed, and the existing condensate drain/P-trap was reused during the installation. After the drain backed up, I was charged $295.75 for a condensate drain clog service and then told the existing drain/trap setup was incorrect and needed to be replaced. The attached photo shows the P-trap configuration that was left in place. In my opinion, this should have been identified at the time of installation, especially since the manufacturer’s installation manual includes specific requirements for the condensate drain, trap, and piping. The drain line also was not insulated up to the unit. My issue is not that a clog happened. My issue is that the installer reused an improper-looking setup, did not bring it to my attention during installation, and then I was charged later when that same setup caused a problem. I expected better workmanship and better communication. I have requested a refund for the service charge and hope the company chooses to make this right. If they correct their mistake i will delete this review. Update after owner response: Thank you for responding. My concern is exactly that the existing condensate drain/trap was reused without being evaluated against the Rheem installation requirements at the time the new air handler was installed. Even if the job was described as “equipment only,” the condensate drain is still part of making the installed equipment operate properly and safely. The issue is not simply that an old drain line clogged years later. The issue is that after the backup occurred, I was told the existing drain/trap configuration was incorrect and needed to be replaced. If it was incorrect for this system, that should have been identified and disclosed during the original installation, not after a failure and a service charge. I also do not agree with framing the proposed correction as an “upgrade” if the existing drain/trap configuration did not meet the manufacturer’s installation requirements for the equipment installed. Bringing the drain configuration into compliance should not be treated as an optional upgrade after the fact. I understand warranties have time limits, but my complaint is about the original installation decision to reuse a drain/trap setup that I was later told was incorrect. That is why I requested a refund of the $295.75 service charge.”
“My experience with today’s service call was exceptional from start to finish. Corey arrived promptly within the scheduled appointment window, greeted me professionally, gathered his tools, and immediately began diagnosing my HVAC system. Corey quickly identified the issue—a failed capacitor—and was fully prepared with the replacement part on his service vehicle. After replacing the capacitor, he conducted a comprehensive inspection of the entire system, verifying operating pressures, temperatures, and overall performance. During his assessment, he determined that the unit was low on refrigerant and professionally serviced it to restore optimal operation. What truly distinguished Corey was his outstanding commitment to customer service. Throughout the visit, he took the time to clearly explain each step of the diagnostic process, what he was evaluating, and why it was important and the benefits and considerations of both recommended and required services. His transparency, technical expertise, and willingness to educate me provided complete confidence in both his recommendation and the quality of his work.
