About
Automated AC handles vehicular air conditioning systems and replacement parts out of San Antonio. They build complete add-on kits to fit older vehicles that never had factory air or need full retrofits. JW handles the customer side and works directly on compressor swaps, fitting custom hose assemblies, evaporator cores, condensers, and related electrical parts for trucks and cars from the 1970s through the 1990s. The business stocks specific packages for models like Toyota T100s, Chevrolet pickups, and AMC Javelins along with brackets, valves, and blower motors.
Customers call in with compressor issues or missing under-hood components on vintage vehicles and get step-by-step help from JW on trinary switches, alternator moves, and adding the right beadlock fittings or expansion valves. One owner needed a complete system for a 1971 AMC Javelin where everything under the hood had vanished over time. Another bought the wrong kit elsewhere and JW identified the correct parts for a perfect fit. Several describe ordering York to Sanden retrofits or full packages for a 1986 Toyota Hilux and a 1978 Mustang II that arrived ready to install with every bracket and hose included.
JW answers calls right away, even on Saturdays, and gives out his cell number so owners can send photos for quick part identification and emailed links. Packages have shown up the next day after a Friday order. The shop works through back-and-forth on custom fittings until the system runs cold and stays that way. Hours run from early morning until late every day of the week. They stay busy in peak summer months so owners are advised to order ahead.
The record shows steady praise for clear communication and parts that match the vehicle exactly. DIRT Score 3.5 from 7 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“JW is the best! Helped me with trinary switch and compressor issues. Went through several conversations and provided expertise and replacement parts as needed. Walked me through relocating my alternator and helped through the whole process. Hands down, the best customer service of my entire life (63 years). I 100% recommend Auto A/C Solutions. 5 stars ⭐️! (1955 Pontiac Chieftain)”
“I purchased a complete system under the hood for a 1971 AMC javelin. over the years everything under the hood disappeared but the inside unit cooling system was still there. They worked with me and we had to add some fittings, some stuff back-and-forth. But the end result was everything worked fine in the air is cold. Try not to wait till July to order parts because they are really busy then.”
“I bought the wrong one somewhere else even though it said it would fit ! JW at auto ac took the time to figure out what I had and sent it out. Fits like a glove highly recommend them great customer service very friendly”

“JW answered immediately when I called gave me his cellphone number to send pictures of what I had and emailed over the link ( On a Saturday) with everything I needed to install A/C in a 1986 Toyota Hilux that had no A/C. His customer service is amazing. I will recommend him to anyone who is looking to install a/c on a vantage vehicle. This isn’t the type of company that just wants to take your money.”
“JW is outstanding. Treasure trove of info! Walked me through the conversion process on my 1978 Mustang II. The quality of equipment sold to me was top notch. Great place to do business with.”
