Bracken Plumbing Inc
HVAC Contractor · Schertz, TX
About
Bracken Plumbing Inc handles HVAC work along with related heating and cooling jobs across Guadalupe County, TX. The outfit has built a presence in Schertz and nearby spots over twenty five years, handling the demands that come with Texas heat and older homes that need steady system upkeep. Homeowners call on them for air conditioning repairs, heating fixes, and full installations that keep houses comfortable through the seasons without constant breakdowns. Their crews show up with the tools and know how to deal with the local conditions that wear out equipment faster than in milder climates.
They take on service calls for leaking units that need quick sealing, backflow checks on systems that run around a hundred twenty five dollars in past years, and water softener setups that tie into heating lines. One job involved a technician sorting a leak on site even while mentioning family waiting at home, while another sent Johnny and Eliza out to install a softener fast and walk through the controls for the homeowner. Crews also handle clogged sinks and dripping taps in older bathrooms by swapping rubber parts and clearing lines, with customer service reps like Jes fielding questions on scheduling and costs before the truck arrives.
Customers keep coming back because the work gets done fast with clear explanations on how the equipment runs afterward, and the pricing stays steady once quoted without surprise add ons in most cases. Speed shows up in how quick they book and finish jobs, quality comes through in lasting fixes on both new and old systems, and communication works when the office stays patient with details. A few calls hit snags on timing or charges, yet the overall record stays strong. DIRT Score 4.97 from 163 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“**Updated Below** Poor communication from start to finish. The tech arrived late and rushed through the job, even mentioning he just wanted to get home to his family. While he did fix the leak, I was charged twice for labor. After speaking with Dan, he assured me the extra labor charge would be removed—only to learn he retired that same week. Since then, every call to the office has been met with excuses and no returned messages, including from the receptionist. Further, I had the company call me after this review was posted and stated they would like to refund me the labor if I could change my rating. I told him to keep the money, and they were not going to buy my rating. Please understand who you are doing business with prior to doing business with them. **Updated** I would like to request those call logs because a dozen didn't happen. Your receptionist finally called me back and asked me to change my initial Google review if you refunded what was supposed to have been refunded. I refused. I have not been refunded to this day. I'll be happy to provide proof. I've reviewed many businesses and yours is by far the worst with not staying honest.”
“I rarely post reviews, but I feel consumers should know about my experience. I made an appointment with Bracken Plumbing over a week ago for help with my 1960s pink bathroom — one sink was clogged, and the bathtub’s hot water tap had a small drip that needed a simple rubber piece replaced (something I’ve done myself before). They showed up late in the afternoon even though I had a morning appointment. Then, I was shocked when they quoted me $500 for the repair — an unreasonable amount for such a minor fix. I’ve since learned that the company has changed ownership, and their prices have increased significantly. I’m sharing this to give the community a heads-up. It’s fair to charge for quality work, but price gouging is not acceptable. Be mindful and get a second opinion before agreeing to service.”
“I used this company for a backflow inspection last year and was charged $125. I called and scheduled an appointment for this year was told it was $225 which at the time I didn't realize it went up so much. I checked my bill from last year and called back and asked them to cancel my appointment because I called around and got quotes for $125 at other places. I was told the guy had already came by and so I asked that a manager call me back. No one ever called me. The next day around 6pm I get a text saying the inspector is about to arrive to do the inspection. I tried calling to cancel and they were already closed. I sent a message today trying to talk to a manager and still no response. I got the bill emailed to me today for $225. Terrible communication. I would look elsewhere for your plumbing needs.”
“Very pleased with how quickly they were able to get us scheduled for water softener instillation. Johnny & Eliza were very speedy on-site & explained how to use the system once installed. Also, their customer service rep was very patient answering all my questions. Apologies I think her name was Jessica or Michelle? Will def use again & highly recommend.”
“Bracken stayed in touch with us before our appointment. Johnny showed up in the time window we expected, and he got us fixed up. He also tested the line three times to make sure everything was good and then cleaned up his worksite and put everything back like he found it! Super professional and friendly.”
