American Argos Inc Dba E & L Service Co

American Argos Inc doing business as E & L Service Co runs HVAC work from Sugar Land. Steve leads the crew on air conditioning repairs and replacements. They also handle commercial refrigeration and ice machines. The business lists its address at 1560 Industrial Dr # C in Missouri City and stays open every day from 7 in the morning until 8 at night.

Customers call when breakers trip on hot days and the system stays off. Steve reached one house in Maplewood West within an hour after a Saturday call, swapped a capacitor, and found the 17 year old compressor had failed. He returned the next day with a replacement unit and restored cooling at a price the owner called reasonable. Another customer had blown a transformer while trying a wifi thermostat install on his own. Steve fixed the wiring, put in a new transformer, and set up the thermostat for a fair cost. Long term clients use the company for both home and business cooling, where Steve explains the parts needed and the reasons behind the repair costs. One owner reported a drain line clog after following advice to switch from bleach to vinegar in the condensate line, which led to an overflow and extra plumber bills.

Steve and the crew show up quickly on service calls and keep communication direct about what the system needs. They cover homes and businesses in the local area and stick to the posted hours that run from early morning through evening every day of the week. Pricing comes up in reviews as reasonable when the work gets done right the first time.

The Google rating sits at 4.2 from 5 reviews. Four reviews praise the prompt arrivals, clear explanations, and solid fixes on compressors and thermostats. One review calls out an overcharge and disagreement over condensate line treatment that left algae buildup. Recurring notes cover efficient repairs and honest job descriptions alongside that single complaint about follow up results. DIRT Score 2.2 from 5 reviews on Finds.

“I was more than pleased with the work Steve & his E&L crew performed for us in Maplewood West! Returned from being away on a Saturday afternoon and found the house very warm and AC off. I checked the breaker panel & found it tripped. Switched it back on & it tripped again in seconds. Knew then I needed a pro. Found E&L card from a previous service & called. Steve came within an hour to check the system. Replaced a capacitor & discovered our 17-yr old American Standard compressor was dead. Steve & crew were back Monday about noon with a replacement compressor & now we are cool again. Price was reasonable. We will keep the E&L contact card handy. E&L also does commercial refrigeration, ice machines, etc. I trust Steve...”

“Steve does it right! We have used E&L Services for about 10 years for both our business and home air conditioning. They do a through and professional job. they explain what is needed and why it cost what it does to fix a system properly. You may be able to find a cheaper price but you will not find a better quality service than E&L Services.”

“Total scam artist. Way over charged me for something that still was not fixed. Then the last time Steve came to my house, about a year ago, he scolded me for putting bleach down my condensate line (what I'v always used in 40+ yrs of home ownership) and insisted I only use vinegar. So, I did. And this past weekend, the drain line clogged with only ALGAE and overflowed all over everywhere! A huge repair bill! The plumber & the contractor & my new a/c guy all said USE BLEACH!”

“Tried installing a wifi thermostat myself and blew out the transformer. Steve with E&L came out promptly, replaced the wiring, transformer and installed the new thermostat for a reasonable price. Highly recommend.”

“Honest, prompt, efficient!”
