Scott Oleson
HVAC Contractor · Tyler, TX
About
Scott Oleson runs Olsen Air LLC as a veteran-owned HVAC contractor serving homeowners across Hays County, Texas. The outfit sticks to residential heating and cooling work in the county and nearby spots, handling everything from basic upkeep to full unit swaps when old systems quit under local weather swings. Owner-operator habits keep decisions quick and direct, with military habits shaping how jobs get approached day to day. Folks in the area reach out for both scheduled visits and sudden breakdowns rather than dealing with bigger outfits that add layers between the call and the fix.
When an air conditioning unit fails, the team moves on it with specific steps that match the problem at hand. Amanda Williams had her cooling go out during a weekend heat wave and they reached the house fast enough to restore comfort before the indoor temperature climbed further. Technician Drew handled Autumn Bright's cooling call by showing up on schedule, explaining the steps in plain terms, and finishing the repair without extra delays or return visits. The work covers regular maintenance checks plus complete replacements, with crews arriving ready so homeowners do not lose a full day waiting on parts or second trips.
Homeowners note steady honesty on what the job actually requires along with fast replies to calls and arrivals that match the promised times. Quality on the repairs holds up in repeated mentions while price feedback stays mixed across the set. Speed during peak season calls and clear back-and-forth on details earn the most consistent comments even when overall marks vary. DIRT Score 2.45 from 16 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Dr. Olson & his staff are AMAZING! I love an honest doctor. Great location & always welcoming. My husband only got to have him as his primary for 5 months before he passed away, but he loved his honesty too.”
“Dr. Olson has been my Primary Care Physician for almost 20 years and I would not dream of changing. I feel I am here today because he did not like the sound of my lungs (none of my other doctors mentioned it) and referred me to a specialist. Diagnosis, stage 3b lung cancer. He is my only independent doctor and I hope he stays independent. All my other doctors have been bought out and care has gone down hill. Love his staff!”
“I have been a patient of Dr. Olson's for 20 years. He is a thorough physician. Dr. Olson doesn't rush you through an appointment. He has an excellent "bedside manner" that makes you feel comfortable. If you're looking for a more-than-capable family care physician, one who genuinely cares about his patients, Dr. Scott Olson is your doctor.”
“I’ve been a critical care RN for 18 years. Suffering from panic disorder after a cardiac event. His bedside manner was awful. He dismissed what I truly needed. I feel like he blew me off. He said “ well maybe you are having seizures” .. really? He left me there with lab work .. the nurse taking it could not tell me what he wanted the labs for. Look at my epic history and you can see I’ve suffered from this issue without a resolution for 2 years in may. He dismissed me. Why can’t I get help? Tox screens are neg .. clearly I’m stable and wanting help. No.,..Come back 2 more times and maybe we will help you after all I’ve exhausted. Help the ones helping you. What a disgrace.”
“I have used Dr. Olsen for the better part of 11 years due to insurance limitations. I have been there numerous times with issues that I thought he should at least look at. Most all times he took my word on what l thought was wrong and either gave me medication or referred me somewhere else. The majority of his staff is inexperienced, but this is not their fault. The turnover rate with his staff is incredibly fast. One of many examples that I feel comfortable sharing is as follows; I had an appt. there last year for a sinus infection. They wouldn't allow me to enter the building until they issued me a covid test and then with a negative result, was told that I needed to schedule a new appointment, saying that this appointment was used up with the covid test. That required my insurance and myself to be charged for two visits ($), cost me more time off work, and add an extra one hour round trip to his office. If you are using him as your physician, consult Dr. Goggle prior as I have never even seen him touch a stethoscope! I recently requested my medical records to update my VA status and, after 3 trips to the office, 10 days and $128, I was given my records. I'm now on Medicare and have switched clinics. The difference is night and day!Good luck!”
