About

Kaska Sales & Services runs its HVAC operations from Whitney in Hill County, Texas. The crew holds Texas Air Conditioning License ACLB012166E and keeps ties to both the Hillsboro and Whitney chambers of commerce. Homeowners reach them at 254-694-2371 or 254-337-0533 on weekdays from eight to five, with some Saturday mornings available. They handle air conditioning and heating work on older homes and new builds alike, including full system checks before purchase and new unit installs in existing properties. The business focuses on straightforward service for local houses that face Texas heat and older equipment that often needs attention after inspectors miss HVAC issues.

Technicians at Kaska replace complete inside and outside units on properties around Hill County, as one customer found after their summer electric bill dropped by more than half following the swap. Another homeowner had an AC unit changed out with every step explained on site, followed by a clean work area and clear use instructions left behind. The same team evaluates very old systems in recently bought houses to spot problems early. Long-term customers note reliable repairs and maintenance that keep units running without repeated callbacks, plus appliance work that stretches back decades from the owner's earlier store in West. They cover both repair calls and fresh installs for homes needing updates to handle peak summer loads.

Customers keep coming back for the solid quality of the installs and fixes, the fair prices that avoid surprise costs, and the clear explanations given on every job. Reviews highlight courteous techs who finish work without leaving messes and deliver results like lower power bills after unit replacements. Some point to years of steady service from the same owner without issues, though one buyer noted a rushed evaluation on an older system. The mix of fast responses, careful explanations, and durable outcomes on repairs and installs adds up to steady feedback. DIRT Score 3.87 from 27 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

I generally don’t write reviews but this situation warrants one. I purchased a property in Hill County in June of 2023. I’ve purchased a number of homes and know that home inspectors aren’t qualified to evaluate HVAC systems. We reached out to have the very old HVAC system in this house evaluated by Kaska and by chance found that they had historically serviced this system. They came out and gave the system a clean bill of health, stating that although the system “looked old, they had replaced nearly every component in the system”. This clean bill of heath killed my ability to negotiate for a new system in the purchase of the home, but I took Kaska’s evaluation. Two months after I purchased the home, the AC quit cooling the home. I went out to inspect the outside unit. I found the power supply for the outside unit hard wired together with wire nuts, with the wires starting to burn. I also found coil completely packed with dirt and dead grass. I spent over and hour with compressed air, a vacuum and finally water to get the coil clean enough so the water would stop running out muddy. I called Kaska out to inspect the wiring and their techs both agreed the wiring was not right and since they didn’t have a box on their truck, they suggested I call an electrician to repair, a $600 cost. I ended up calling a mechanical contractor and had them climb in the attic while they were here. They found a rusting air handler with insulation falling into the fan, causing a burning smell. I called Richard Kaska and spoke to him about this. He stated he needed to pull some information and would get back to me. Over a week later, I called and left a message again and he called me back. Richard blamed my realtor, who had nothing to do with it, other than to coordinate a time for Kaska to come out He said they replaced a motor, but the outside motor mounting hardware is rusted solid and the techs would have had to seen the hardwired power supply, as they would have wanted to safe the system before working on it. There are two possibilities here 1 Richard’s techs are lying to him 2 Richard is lying and blaming others to avoid taking responsibility I’m out $7-$10k for a new system. If Kaska had done their job, they would have been able to sell a system during the purchase of the and would have a happy customer. If Richard would have taken responsibility when I called him, we could have worked out a fair deal for the replacement of the system. I’d be happy and I would have respected him and his company for making it right. Beware of Kaska HVAC.

This is a great company with an honest owner. I've been using this company for well over 20 years with no problems. I originally purchased my appliances from the owners old family appliance store that was originally opened in the city of West. After over 35 years of doing business with the owner and his family I can tell you that they are all good honest hard working people. As with any a/c contractor they sometimes get busy in the heat of summer, but Mr Kaska will be there to help you when other companies will look for bigger profit and other companies will replace parts that you don't need and cost you hundreds or even thousands of dollars. My suggestion is for everyone to get a spring and fall check up on your a/c and heating system. That's what I've been doing for years now and it has saved me thousands of dollars. Mr Kaska will not be dis-honest and charge you for something that you don't need. I can't say that about three other a/c companies that I've dealt with over the years.

They replaced both inside and outside units last summer. Very friendly and courteous service. Excellent and very knowledgeable employees. Great AC, my summer electric bill is less than half of what it cost previously. Extremely satisfied and highly recommend their services.

Great work at a reasonable price. They replaced my AC unit and explained every step well, then left me with a cleaned-up area and instructions for continuing use. Would definitely recommend!

If U have A/C problems I highly recommend Kaska! The service men were quick & friendly! They took very good care of me! Efficient, knowledgeable, quick, friendly, it was great all the way around! Thank you Kaska for taking such good care of me! A 10 million and then some!! Sincerely, Sherri Hancock
