“POST PART 1 of 2 : Had to hire a lawyer and would never use this contractor again. We had them remove the 30 year old blown pink fiberglass insulation in our 3400 sq. ft. attic and reinsulate it with spray foam. During the site visit walk through (including the house and the attic) prior to our awarding them the job I explain to their salesman that we had recently fully remodeled the whole kitchen, living room, den, dining room and hallway areas of the house which included new ceilings, drywall installations and repair, refloating, retexturing and repainting, along with recessed lighting, molding and other mill works added and that it was paramount that we absolutely could not have any kind of accident or damage to those areas from their guys working in the attic. This was to highlight the hyper-sensitivity to something happening in those areas as opposed to the bedrooms, bathrooms or other parts of the house that hadn't been remodeled yet but were planned to be someday. They insured me they would take every step to be extra careful in those areas to prevent anything from happening even if they needed to lay sheets of plywood in the attic to work off of. And that they would explain all this likewise to their crew. We furthermore agreed that since anything is still possible, if they did have an accident that damaged the ceiling(s) anywhere the same level of repair effort would be required that was done during the remodel work particularly in the sense of replacing damaged sheetrock, refloating, retexturing and repainting the whole ceiling area so you'd never be able to tell it happened and that a simple patch-job would not be acceptable. The salesman agreed. When the crew showed up they knew nothing of the scope of the job or the concerns I had voiced with their salesman. The first words from their apparent lead guy (assumed since he was the only one that spoke English) were "...well what are we doing today". Turns out he didn't know if they were spraying walls, or an attic, or barn, or workshop, or whatever! He didn't know if it was new or existing construction. Nothing had been relayed to them that I told the salesman. So I explained everything all over again on a walk through of both the house and attic with the whole crew. Then you guessed it, only 30 minutes into the job vacuuming out the old insulation the "lead guy" fell through the middle of the kitchen ceiling and recessed lighting in an area of the attic with full standing height and decking and rafters to hold on to! It was the last place you'd expect it to happen and pure carelessness! I called their salesman who was very apologetic and he asked if I could get our remodel contractor to give them a quote to repair the ceiling back to the same level it was to make sure we would be pleased with the final product. We quickly provided them a quote from our remodel contractor and it only went downhill from there. They did not like the price and said they had a guy who could do it way cheaper. We told them that would be OK as long as he could repair it to the same level as the remodel did and refloat, retexture and repaint the kitchen ceiling where you could never tell it happened like we discussed before. Then for six weeks after the accident we went round and round with Thermodynamics and their repair contractor on the phone discussing scope/method of repair, waiting for him to show up several times and never did nor did Thermodynamics ever check up on it. We had to keep calling them each time asking where he was, what was going on? Their repair guy either was having truck problems, couldn't get a ride, had other work he was finishing, was sick and endless excuses for not showing up. We started sensing he wasn't confident enough to repair the damage to where you'd never see it and when we finally pressed him on how he planned to repair it he said it was just going to be a patch job and not a rework of the larger ceiling area to blend it in. At this point Thermodynamic said they wanted to try someone else.............. SEE POST PART 2 of 2”

“Company ruined my newly built 30x40 shop. Company sent experience installer who applied the closed cell spray foam wrong. The sales person for the company fired the installer after seeing the job. Sales person told me he is not going to try and justify it. Sales person said he can’t fix the spray foam. The installer also got over spray on a wall not authorized to spray and the outside of my building from doing no prep work correctly. The installer dumped chemicals on my driveway that has ruined the asphalt. Had other professional insulation company out and they said worst spray foam job they ever saw and the only way to fix is to cover it up. The company refuses to fix the damage and says it is cosmetic. I have loaded pics of damages so future customers won’t end up like me”

“Did a great and professional job on the insulation. Unfortunately there was damage to the grass and landscaping from their trailer that was left untouched and not mentioned upon completion. I’ve had to work the repair work out on my own.”

“POST PART 2 OF 2 We said no, that considering how the accident happened in the first place and how the whole repair effort wasn't happening, we had no faith they were going to come through with a reliable person now or ever or that the repair would be done to the same level the remodel work was done as we agreed to before awarding them the job. We also told them we were tired of living with a hole in our kitchen ceiling for 6 weeks and having to explain it to company and everyone. So we told them we would be letting our original remodel contractor repair it for the amount quoted and deducting that amount from Thermodynamics' final payment which we did. Our remodel contractor was there in a couple days to start the repair whereas we never heard from Thermodynamics again. Some months later we found out a lean had been filed against our house by Thermodynamics for the exact amount of the repair cost we deducted from their final payment. This was a clear indication to us that all Thermodynamics was interested in was getting all their money and they never had any intention to repair or reimburse us for the repair of the damage their crew did to our house. We ended up having to retain a lawyer and threaten legal action against Thermodynamics for filing what was determined to be "an improper lean". Thermodynamics then promptly removed the lean with no explanations, apologies or comments. This review is already long enough so I won't go into all the extra cost we incurred throughout this process or the problem we also had with Thermodynamics' spray foam application that required me to take corrective measures weeks later.”
