About

AtticFoil Radiant Barrier Supply LLC operates out of Justin Texas as a supplier of reflective foil insulation. The company focuses on foil products in multiple widths along with related items such as house wrap and garage door kits. Their site lists install guides for staple up methods over trusses along with hybrid and flat top approaches plus applications for cathedral ceilings exterior walls and metal roofing. Customers reach them for both residential and larger metal building projects where the foil blocks heat gain or loss.

Reviewers describe projects in pole barns with apartments inside homes with metal roofs and attics over garages. One user added foil to a 30 by 60 pole barn and saw heat drop enough for existing insulation to work better with fans moving air. Another covered 2100 square feet in a home attic plus a false ceiling and noted lower temperatures after two months. In Houston one customer tracked power use before and after and saw daily peaks fall below 80 kilowatt hours even in hotter August weather. Tampa and Phoenix users reported attic temperatures staying near outside readings instead of climbing well above them.

Orders arrive quickly with solid packaging and the company answers questions directly including calls with Fritz. Ed and Blanca handle support calls and returns process fast when extra material comes back unused. Videos break down measuring cutting and stapling steps so solo installers or small crews finish without major issues. Pricing stays affordable according to multiple accounts and the foil pairs with tape that holds on metal though extra rolls help on bigger jobs.

What Customers Say

“Quality product that delivers as advertised. I added this to my 30x60 pole barn that has an apartment built inside it. While this isn’t a replacement for insulation it cut down heat in the building dramatically so that the insulation that is installed above the ceiling in the apartment can perform as designed. It is comparable to shade on a hot day. Still warm but the heat isn’t magnified. And if you can move the air with exhaust fans it’s actually pleasant. I also like the white backing as it helps reflect interior lighting and brightens up the shop area. Tape sticks very well to the radiant barrier and metal trusses but doesn’t adhere to wood very well. In my case, this was a nonissue. Product arrived quickly and was able to purchase a shorter quantity than advertised as I about 50’ shy from covering my entire roofing space.”

“Well... Two months later and "trying not to overthink it", the main section of my home is done. Besides adding foil to my attic space, I also completely floored the entire attic space (2,100 square feet), and added the flat-false ceiling pictured in the image below. Adding the floor and the false ceiling added weeks to my project. If I didn't have to do that my project would have been much faster. I still need to add foil to the bonus room over my garage. The reason I started this whole project! I have waited until next week to start that portion because fall is finally here and it will be cool enough to crawl around in that small space. When it came to the corners of the truss sections I added 1 x 2 pieces of wood and that seemed to work well. Doing the cut out sections you have on your website seemed so much more complicated than the way I did it. Plus, no hot air makes its way into my attic space. I am quite pleased! The ambient temperature now is no more than 7° above the outside temperature (93° outside with 100° in the attic)! It was worth it and I am feeling the difference in my home. The air conditioner does not turn on until the late afternoon (5:00pm). Thanks again fo”

“Great service and communication. I wish would have done this sooner. I kept thinking "I have a metal roof and polyiso under it, so probably nothing to gain". I was wrong. I'm in Houston, Tx., hot and humid. Self installed below rafters, no issue. A/C is 5T central with ducts in attic. During the 30 days prior to install, June into July 2024, I had 10 days where I used over 80KWH and 3 above 90KWH, peaking at 97.8KWH. After install, 2 weeks in July and two in August, only one day surpassed 80KWH and barely at 80.1KWH zero days above 80.1KWH. Impressive drop. With smart meters you can download the temps and usage. Even though June was hot, August has been hotter. This product works, it's very tough but easy to cut and work with. I did this install alone. I bought an expandable plank to assist which was really beneficial, and used my Milwaukee T50 battery stapler to attach the foil.”

“I installed the Attic Foil around mid-February when the weather was a lot cooler here in Tampa. The roof I have wasn’t the most fun to work with. It’s Pyramid shaped and the East/West sides were a pain in the butt to work with due to the stair stepping of the studs. When I tried to use a 4’x10’ strip it proved very difficult to work with by myself. If I ever do this again I will work with a helper or pay someone. I ended up cutting the foil into 4x4 squares which made it a lot easier to work with. An electric staple gun is a must. Other than the positing of the studs the installation wasn’t difficult. We are now in record breaking heat for this time of the year. Today’s high was 98 degrees so I mounted a couple of thermometers in the attic to get an idea of the temperatures above and below the foil. It is a little hard to see but the one above the foil is reading >130 degrees and the one below is at 104. It’s hard to tell the true temperature above the foil because the thermometer tops out at 120 degrees. I will highly recommend this product to anyone. We are seeing a reduction on our electric bill but will not know the full savings until we have a few months to compare it to. ”

“AtticFoil is a great product and great company. Instructional videos extremely helpful, broke it down for a clumsy novice like me, was able to install via combo of myself and hired help for the really tight spaces in a low pitch attic. Showed them the videos and that was all they needed. Can feel the difference almost immediately once you have put it up, able to maintain consistent temp in house during the hot days, minimal AC use. Customer service also outstanding.”

“I wanted to report on our experience with AtticFoil. Using July as our benchmark, our electricity bill dropped 10% in August from sealing recessed lighting with attic covers, foil tape to seal leaks in our HVAC plumbing and expanding foam in any gaps. September, I was able to start installing the AtticFoil. I was able to complete about two-thirds of our attic before it became unbearably hot. Our bill dropped by 25%. We could feel a difference in the areas of the house that had the AtticFoil and the areas that did not. October I was able to complete the rest of our attic. There are still areas I cannot get to, vaulted ceiling and an above garage bedroom. Our October bill was down 30% from July. We were able to get this response during one of the hottest September-October in recent history. The first week of October, we were still in the 100’F. We have not added any additional insulation to our attic yet. I will add R-30 roll insulation very soon to the blown-in that is currently in our attic. We have been thoroughly pleased with AtticFoil. I would recommend AtticFoil to anyone who is on the fence about trying this product. AtticFoil will pay for itself in just a few months. I would ”

“Two years ago we leased a 22,000 square foot metal pole building that is one of four on the property of the Florence Flea Market in SC. Our first year in the building the baking heat was so bad that we had to close up during the Summer because customers wouldn't come inside the "oven" We couldn't afford traditional insulation so we gave Attic Foil a shot. What an amazing transformation. Tempertures are down twenty to thirty degrees this Summer. The temperature inside and out are now the same! What's even more amazing is that we are noticebly cooler than our neighboring connected building which has 4 inches of foam insulation sprayed on ther ceiling! When I decided to install Attic Foil it reminded me of the old advertisement that went: "Everyone laughed when I set down at the piano" Everyone seemed to think I was crazy spending over $2000 to put "paper" on the ceiling. Who's laughing now?”

“I am satisfied with this product. It significantly reduced heat low in my attic, similar to what I’d expect with a shade tree over my roof. I chose AtticFoil in part because of their helpful YouTube videos about proper use and installation.”

“Building code does not require radiant barier in NC and many other states. It is helpful during winter period and essential in summer time. AtticFoil Radiant Barrier Supply made it simple for homeowners.”

“Excellent product just as described on their website installed on the attic of my house in Levittown PA made a big difference on the temperature, from before and after, plus you have a clean area instead of just the insulation. will recommend to anyone to use very affordable prices.”

“Now that I've had a radiant barrier and experienced its effects for almost 4 months of Oklahoma's summer heat, I am quite astonished at the difference in my, here it comes, comfort level. I'm still on SmartHours with my electric provider and my inside temps still climb over 80 degrees but what's different now is that it no longer takes forever to get at a comfortable temp. My AC can drop several degrees within an hour as it's no longer fighting against the excessive heat buildup in the attic. Since my install, I have monitored my attic temps and the results are most dramatic on the hottest of days. On the 108-degree day, my attic temp was just 10-degrees hotter at 116! Oddly, on cooler days, the attic temp was more like 15 to 20-degrees warmer. Not sure why but I'm deeply thrilled by how much difference this has made on my AC's ability to keep me comfortable. I bet you're asking why my electric bills didn't go down. I'm a hot sleeper, so I need my room to be around 67-degrees so I can get a good night's sleep. I didn't want to cool my whole house to 67 so I installed 1 small window AC in each bedroom, for a total of 2 units. I set my home temp to 75 at night and our units to wher”

“A MUST HAVE in the hot Phoenix sun. We installed, literally, the weekend before we hit 118. And it saves so much. My June electric bill this year was $50 less than last year! The roof itself would be 160F, the Attic Foil at 117 which matches the outside temp! The attic itself measures about 120 because there was no breeze. But that's so much better than 160! It was horrible putting it up over our vaulted ceiling with how our house was built... but once it was done, it's done!”

“Great product, great customer service! Product is extremely durable, does not tear easily, but cuts easily. I bought one too many rolls though. Return policy was exactly as described and unused roll was immediately accepted and refunded next day. I have yet to see how it will be tested in brutal heat since I just installed it this winter, but the research holds up.”

“Attic foil is excellent. It lowered the temperature in my attic to normal outside temperature instead of 150 degrees.”

“I think BlueTex has the best Customer support in this industry. Thank you Ed and Blanca for your dedication to your product and please continue educating us and future customers. A great product that I will continue to use and recommend.:) :) :)”

“I have installed about 1500 sq ft in my home in Northern California. I did it alone but it would go quicker with some help so it is manageable alone. The product is easy to to cut but strong enough to pull to fit. I chose to staple it up but may add some to cover my duct work. Used my temp gun to see the difference and it was 20 degrees cooler. My attic fan cycled less after the install. I was looking for a solution to add more insulation so my heater and a/c would be more efficient. Very happy I came across your product. After educating myself and realizing this is the product for my needs. Happy it is affordable. Thank you.”

“Excelente product, I used it in my shed helps with maintaining a comfortable temperature inside the shed alone with some wall insulation.”

“I found your website this summer while doing research on economical ways to cool my house and reduce my electric bill. I live in central Florida so the summer Heat is brutal to attic temperatures. Your extensive videos and information sold me on the attic foil and I purchased 3,000 SF of 26” wide Radiant Barrier to install myself. Prior to installing I placed a digital thermometer in the attic (early June) to track the temperature for a week or 2. The highest temp I recorded at 122 F, noted that this was not the hottest months yet. After Installing the foil, following excellent videos of the best ways to hang the material, I have not seen temperatures in the attic exceed 98 F! This was all through the months of July and August, typically our hottest months. My electric bills are running $50 less than previous years during these 2 months, which immediately proves my investment will pay it self back within 2 years! I am so impressed with how well this simple DIY project works I share this with all my family and friends and encourage them to look into this for their own home. Thank you for such a great product and taking the time to produce the videos which were so helpful.”

“My son heard about AtticFoil from a home construction friend of his, and we decided to install it in our homes. No one looks forward to doing work in the attic, but installation was easier than we anticipated. Each home took less than three hours to complete, and we noticed the sound deadening attributes right away. It's too early to see how much energy savings we will experience, but I have noticed that the attic storage area is not near a cold as it was prior to installation. To clarify, we installed the foil in November and live in New Mexico, it's cold! So far we are very satisfied with the product.”

“I contacted AtticFoil to ask several questions relating to a project that I was considering…installing a radiant barrier in my unconditioned garage space to assist with lowering the temperature in that area as there isn't any storage, living area or insulation above. When I called, I was fortunate to speak with Mr. Fritz directly. He was a significant help after listening to my questions. He said to expect a drop in the garage area temperature of between 10-12 degrees. My order was received quickly, and the packaging was excellent. Relatively easy to install, but make sure you view the videos and read the installation tips. I would recommend ordering an extra tape roll as that product is worth it. After installing the radiant barrier, I have noticed a meaningful reduction in the temperature within my garage. In fact, I have temperature gauges in several locations in the attic and garage and have seen a benefit of over 14 degrees on several occasions in my garage. I’m looking forward to how it will help when summer comes. So far so good...excellent product and I will be buying more to do the primary part of my house in the future.”
