Plantscape Solutions

Plantscape Solutions runs landscaping and Christmas lighting work out of Austin, Texas. David Prew leads the crew, which has handled lawn care and holiday setups since 1999. Their main jobs cover top dressing grass, general landscape maintenance, and full Christmas light installation for houses and businesses, along with taking lights down and keeping them stored between seasons.

Homeowners bring them in when lawns look worn out after hard summers or when they need help with holiday lights instead of climbing ladders themselves. David spends time asking questions about yard problems, sends product suggestions, and then applies top dressing that makes treated sections stand out from the rest. For lights, the crew hangs strands straight on trees and houses, adds wreaths or garland when asked, and removes everything on schedule so the job stays hassle free year after year.

David answers calls and texts fast, confirms jobs months ahead for top dressing, and shows up on the day he says he will. Prices stay fair according to the people who hire him, and he works across Austin plus nearby spots like Driftwood. The crew stays respectful on site, stores lights in climate controlled space for a small fee, and keeps communication open from the first quote through teardown.

The outfit carries a five star rating from 102 reviews. Reviewers often note the same points about David staying responsive, crews finishing on time, and results that draw compliments from neighbors on both lawns and light displays.

“Five years ago, I contacted David at Plantscape Solutions to ask a few questions and discuss top dressing our lawn. David is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his work and the quality of his top dressing. We live on an acre and top dress the main lawn areas, not the whole property. It is obvious which areas have top dressing. Our yard looks fantastic! Neighbors always compliment us on how great it looks. This summer was brutal, but our lawn faired much better than others because we’ve been top dressing our lawn for five years. David has been great to work with over the years. He reaches out a few months prior to top dressing to confirm your order. He shows up when he says he will, and he does excellent work. Way better quality top dressing than you can get from large chain lawn companies, and better service, too. I highly recommend using Plantscape Solutions.”

“I couldn't be happier with the service I received from David and his team! From start to finish, they made the holiday season feel even more magical. Their professionalism and attention to detail were top-notch. The lights were installed flawlessly, and they transformed my home into a winter wonderland. They were also incredibly punctual and completed the job quickly. The entire experience was stress-free, and the end result was nothing short of spectacular. I highly recommend Platescape Solutions to anyone looking to add a touch of holiday magic to their home. Thank you, David, for making the holiday seasons stress free and extra special!”

“David Prew and his crew at Plantscape Solutions have handled our Christmas light installation for the past several years and we are incredibly happy with his service. He shows up when he says he will, his crew is professional and respectful, and the lights are hung perfectly straight every year (which always amazes me). If you are looking for a high quality Christmas light installer, David is your person! The best part, for a small fee, he will store your lights at the end of the season and bring them back the next year --- so you don't have to even worry about finding a place to keep them for the year. Thanks David. Super excited for the holiday season so we can enjoy our lights again!”

“We love having David install our Christmas lights every year. He has been installing our lights at our old house for a few years and now our new house in Driftwood. He is a fantastic communicator, very friendly and personable, as well as very knowledgable. He does a fantastic job designing and installing our Christmas lights on our new home and we love having the ability to have him store our lights to free up space in our garage. “We recently had Plantscape Solutions (David Prew) install our Christmas lights. In addition to installation, we also purchased our lights, garland, and wreaths. Over the years we have worked with a lot of different installers and Plantscape is by far the best. Since this is something we do every year, it is important to have quality lights and for the folks installing and taking them down to take care of them so they will last longer. Its also nice that they store your lights for you from year to year to save on attic space. David & his team have a lot of pride in what they do and it shows.”

“We have used David and his crew for the past couple years for our Christmas light installation. “After years of so many issues with our lawn and hiring companies to try and help us out to no avail, I contacted David to discuss our situation and see if he had any recommendations. He spent a lot of time listening to our issues and asking questions. He asked me to send him pictures of our lawn and would offer some suggestions. David was very thorough with his response and provided great ideas and links to products for me to try. We will definitely have him do top dressing on our lawn next year. Thank you so much, David, for your time and recommendations! We truly appreciate it!”

“David communicates very well: always gets right back to me and is very responsive. I started using his services some years ago after having a lot of problems with my previous landscape service because of poor responsiveness and other factors and David has done a great job in every way. I am pretty demanding and I have to say David is the best landscaper I have had in Austin and that goes back to 1981! He also has done an excellent job with my exterior and interior Christmas decorations I definitely recommend David for landscaping and Christmas decorations.”
