“The landscaping portion of this project was one of the biggest disappointments. We discussed and agreed on a specific design, but a different layout was installed. When I brought the issue to Kaleb’s attention, I was made to feel as though my concerns were an inconvenience rather than something that should have been addressed. It also felt like my project had taken a back seat to another higher-paying project that Kaleb told me they were working on at the same time. I was informed that equipment was being shared between the two jobs, which left me with the impression that my project was not receiving the time, attention, or priority it deserved. As a result, the work felt rushed, and the quality reflected that. Although I was told the landscaping had been corrected, I still found issues with the workmanship. The new section was installed without proper landscape fabric underneath, leaving me concerned about the quality and longevity of the installation. The backyard also was not properly graded before the sod was installed, despite being told that it would be, and water now collects in areas of the yard. I was away from home when I was notified that the corrections had been completed. Before I even had the opportunity to inspect the work myself, Kaleb was already calling to request final payment and asking me to come home to provide a check. I felt pressured to make the final payment before I could verify that the work had been completed to an acceptable standard. The project also resulted in additional inconvenience and expense. A window was broken during the project and, despite informing the crew beforehand where my internet line was located, it was cut. Because of this, I had to miss a day of work while waiting for my internet service to be repaired. For a project that cost nearly $17,000, I expected significantly better communication, craftsmanship, attention to detail, and respect for my time. Instead, I was left feeling that my project was treated as a lower priority, the work was rushed, and my concerns were repeatedly minimized. The photos speak for themselves. They show the difference between the landscape design we agreed upon and the one that was installed. While the changes may appear subtle to some, they significantly altered the overall appearance of the project. The landscaping portion of my contract did not include plants, so this review relates solely to the hardscape layout, grading, sod installation, and overall workmanship.”
