MJ Construction Services LLC

MJ Construction Services LLC handles landscaping and outdoor living projects from its base in McKinney, Texas. The veteran-owned outfit focuses on custom patios, covered patios, pergolas, concrete work, masonry, artificial turf, outdoor kitchens, stonework, and French drains. Jose leads the crew and takes on jobs across McKinney and the surrounding DFW area, with free estimates offered upfront.

Homeowners call on the company for turf installation that turns muddy yards into usable spaces for kids and pets, patio extensions that add room near pools, pergola builds that create shaded spots, outdoor kitchen additions, stamped concrete overlays, stonework around trees and flower beds, and French drain fixes paired with concrete. Crews also handle privacy fences, board-on-board fences, and full backyard changes that replace grass with turf and stone borders. Jose and his team, including Juan on some sites, complete these projects while addressing specific concerns like drainage or layout changes.

Reviewers note that the crew shows up on schedule, keeps yards clean at the end of each day, answers questions quickly, and sticks to timelines even when weather interferes. Prices come in as competitive or reasonable for the materials used, and communication stays steady from start to finish with updates on progress. Work stays limited to McKinney and nearby DFW spots, and the same customers return for repeat jobs such as added pergolas or concrete pads.

Every listed review gives five stars, with repeated mentions of solid craftsmanship, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through on turf, patios, and masonry.

“MJ Construction deserves more than 5 stars! Jose and his crew have done outstanding work on multiple projects for us, and every single time they’ve exceeded our expectations. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in their work really show in everything they do. One of the things I appreciate most is how much I trust Jose. Anytime I need a referral for something outside of his scope, he’s the first person I call because I know he’ll point me toward someone reliable and trustworthy. That kind of integrity is rare and truly valuable. The stonework they did around our trees and landscaping in the front yard is simply beautiful—it’s the kind of upgrade that makes our home stand out and something we’re proud to show off. On top of that, the solid 8-foot fence they installed is incredible—sturdy, private, and honestly one of the best improvements we’ve ever made to our home. Here are a couple pictures, but they don’t even do justice to how amazing the work looks in person. Jose and MJ Construction will continue to be our only choice for construction needs. If you’re looking for quality, professionalism, and a team that treats your home like their own, look no further. Highl”

“I couldn't be happier with the work MJ Construction Services did on our backyard. From start to finish, they were professional, responsive, and clearly cared about the end result. We had them install turf and build a pergola, and the transformation is incredible. The turf looks and feels amazing — it's created the perfect space to play soccer with my daughter, and it holds up great even with daily activity. The pergola adds a beautiful, shaded area near our pool that makes the whole backyard feel more like an extension of our home. What really stood out was their attention to detail and how clean they left the site after each phase. They listened to what we wanted and delivered exactly that. Our backyard is now not just nicer to look at, but so much more usable as a family space. Highly recommend MJ Construction if you’re looking to create something special outdoors.”

“I received exactly what I asked for and the workmanship is amazing! My yard was left clean at the end of each workday and when the project was completed. I highly recommend MJ Construction!!”

“We could not be happier with the work MJ Construction did to transform our backyard! We went from a mud pit to a beautiful, functional backyard. From start to finish, the process was seamless. Jose and his crew were extremely professional and it was overly apparent they took pride in their work. He made sure to keep us updated throughout the entire process so we knew exactly what to expect. We had turf installed in our entire backyard. It’s one of the best decisions we’ve made for our home and wish we would have done it sooner! Can’t say enough good things about this company!”

“These guys deserve a 5 star rating. I’ve interviewed quite a few companies, and these guys stood out as being knowledgeable, ethical, courteous, and they did not disappoint! They were on time and their prices were extremely competitive. I have recommended them to friends and family who have also been extremely pleased and proud of their workmanship.”

The craftsmanship and attention to detail truly exceeded my expectations, and the final result looks amazing. Communication throughout the project was excellent — Jose kept me informed every step of the way, answered all of my questions quickly, and made the whole process stress-free. If you’re looking for a construction company that is professional, reliable, and produces top-notch work, I highly recommend them. We absolutely love our new patio space!”

“Jose and his crew are awesome. They build a bar and removed all of our backyard grass and put in turf and stones on the sides of the house. It looks phenomenal. His prices are very reasonable and you get extremely high quality materials. Great communication throughout the process. Couldn't ask for a better outcome.”

“MJ construction is the best. I have used them twice already and plan to use them in the future for home improvement projects. The first thing I had them build was a pergola. Last week they built and finished my outdoor kitchen. Jose was great I made several changes after project started and he was able to accommodate. MJ construction also poured me a concrete pad for my shed, extended the concrete around my pool and fixed my sprinklers that were not working correctly after pool install all for a reasonable price. I fully recommend MJ construction.”

“We did concrete stamped overlay and their job was perfect. MJ and their team were on time, communicated very well on the timelines (there were weather challenges), and were thorough professional throughout our experience. I have attached both before and after pictures. Mr. Jose is nice man and so is his team. We will gladly work with him in many different projects in future. Next is the big patio (hopefully). Strongly recommend him.”

“We had Jose install turf in our backyard. Our lawn was so muddy and the grass was not growing on a newly built home and hated cleaning the dogs paws every time they went out and back in. We could not enjoy our yard at all. Jose and his crew came in and did an amazing job getting everything done! We are enjoying our new yard and fire pit area thanks to MJ Construction!! Highly recommend!”

“We couldn’t be happier with the stone work Jose and his crew did around our flower bed and trees. They are true professionals and take pride in their work. The pictures speak for themselves. I highly recommend MJ Construction.”

The craftsmanship, knowledge and customer service we received from the beginning of the project until the completion of our patio pergola, outdoor kitchen, turf, and front-yard flower beds is unparalleled. Not only is he very personable and knowledgeable, but his team is also professional, skilled and efficient.
