Garbo's Locksmith Service

Garbo's Locksmith Service runs a locksmith shop at 2841 S 1st St in Abilene, TX. The locally owned outfit handles automotive work such as car lockouts, key replacement, key fob programming and ignition jobs. It also takes residential and commercial calls for lock installation, rekeying, repairs and safe services. The owner handles calls and the crew runs mobile trucks to reach customers in Abilene plus Clyde, Haskell and Sweetwater.

Reviewers describe jobs that include cutting spare keys for trucks and cars, programming key fobs on a 2017 Ram and a 2018 Jeep JK, unlocking vehicles when batteries fail and making multiple copies of auto keys. Zack handled a Jeep job that produced three keys in short order. Zach showed up for a truck key job and finished in minutes while talking with the customer. Robert Connel arrived for a car unlock that helped a family member. Other calls covered vats keys for older vehicles and battery swaps plus programming on key fobs.

The crew answers calls quickly and sends trucks the same day or within a few hours. Reviewers note they quote prices up front, finish most key work in under thirty minutes and charge less than dealership rates. They serve customers inside Abilene and just outside the city limits, squeeze in same-day requests when booked and explain steps during the visit. The shop stays open for walk-ins and keeps a large stock of key styles on hand.

The listed reviews run mostly five stars with one three-star note on a quote change. Common points include speed on site, polite technicians and prices below dealer levels. Garbo's Locksmith Service earns a Google rating of 4.7.

“I called because I needed car unlocked- battery dead and key fob wouldn’t work. The girl quoted me $45. I had already given her the address. When he got here he unlocked door and charged me $60. I told him they quoted me $45. He said “not out here”. I’m still Abilene just outside of city limits. With all that said they should have honored the given quote.”

“TOP NOTCH very helpful. I had 4 keys made and programmed in under 30 minutes. Very reasonable pricing. They are now my go to lock solution experts.”

“Went in today to get a key. They had like 500 different styles and designs to choose from. After I chose one it took the nice lady about 5 seconds to make me a new key. Whole thing cost like $6. Will definitely be using them in the future and recommending them to anyone that needs one of their services.”

“Came in with two key fobs, one with a dead battery and another, a new one I’d ordered. They replaced the battery in the one, programmed the new one and even cut the hidden key for me for free and did it for a fraction of what the dealerships wanted. Fast, friendly and professional. If you need a locksmith, this is where I’d go.”

“Garbo’s Locksmith is top-notch! We’ve used them several times at our business and have always been impressed by their prompt response, friendliness, and quality work. Yesterday, I called them out to my home on short notice, and they went above and beyond to help. They were quick to arrive, incredibly helpful, and took the time to explain everything. It’s rare to find a company that’s not only skilled but also genuinely kind and professional. Highly recommend Garbo’s to anyone needing locksmith services!”

“Quick professional service. I will definitely use them again!”

“I needed a spare key fob for my 2017 Ram truck. Within 15 minutes I was back on the road with a new programmed key fob and spare key. All of this for less than half of what the dealer would charge. What more could you ask for? Highly recommend!”

“Just a quick PSA about reviews...do your homework if you are concerned about how much a service is going to cost you. Read reviews and make your own judgement, if something is that important to you. If u see ONE bad review, maybe look at the history of the person writing that review, IF you are that concerned. I did this and today I took my business to Garbo's, after doing my research. I'm just telling you my daughter could not have had a better, more pleasant experience. This place was busy and they were patient and helpful to EVERY customer that came in during the 45 minutes we were there. At one point there were THREE employees working on our issue and yes they got us fixed up! The price was extremely reasonable and we will definitely do business there again. These are the nicest people you will run into and they made our day better! Thank you kind folks for helping us out today. Don't get to the Big Country often, but the next time we do we will definitely be stopping in! Keep up that kindness...everyone needs it these days!”

“Awesome experience. Had to get keys made for my truck. They showed up within a few hours and had it done in minutes. Zach was my tech and was awesome to work with and a blast to talk to while he worked. And on top of that, they were a lot less expensive than I was expecting it to be. Thank you guys for being great.”

“I needed some keys made for my nephew's truck that was at my house out in the country. Went by Garbo's locksmith service and talked to the owner she was very helpful and sweet. I had to have the truck he's made because he was going to work in another town. I was so pleased with the price and the professional services that I got and it was very reasonable. I couldn't have asked for a better service. Absolutely wonderful. I appreciate it and thank you very much. If I ever need any more keys made I will call them. I highly recommend that anyone needs keys to call Garbo"s for they are the best. They were booked for the full day and went ahead and squeezed me in. I'm very very grateful. Patricia La Fernier”
