Midland Lock Inc

Midland Lock Inc works as a locksmith from their spot at 1408 N Big Spring St in Midland Texas. They cut keys for customers who bring in custom or broken ones and handle rekey jobs on locks such as Tapo models. Staff also make replacement keys for toolboxes and house doors when no original copy exists. Technicians named Carlos and Malachi appear in accounts of these tasks along with others who assist at the counter.

Customers describe bringing specialty keys that other spots turned away and getting them cut or adjusted on the spot. One person had three keys finished in under ten minutes after a first attempt needed a tweak. Another got a working key for double locks on a toolbox after the initial version failed and paid fourteen dollars total for three. Several others mention quick fixes for house keys and broken ones that fit and turned properly after a second try.

Work happens fast for walk in key jobs with some noting completion in five minutes or less and helpful responses on pricing for standard cuts. Reviewers point to returns for more rekey work or duplicates because the results held up on items that proved difficult elsewhere. Service stays limited to the Midland area with no mentions of wider travel or set hours beyond what callers arrange directly.

The Google rating stands at 4.3 though drawn from zero listed entries there. Accounts often cover speedy key work and staff who come across as nice during simple requests yet a number also note problems with appointments not kept rude exchanges over availability and prices that some found high for the effort involved.

“Bought custom keys online and they needed to be cut. I went everywhere and all places offer nowadays are those machines that force you to purchase a generic key from the machine so I needed to go to a locksmith. This place pulled up, went in and home was just as excited as I was because my keys are actually really cool. He liked them so much he cut them for free. Highly recommend going here (without the expectation of free keys) just because they're super nice and cool - the service was for three keys and took less than 10 minutes altogether. Definitely will be going here for future key related needs.”

“Carlos was lightning fast and very friendly. I was able to get my Tapo lock rekeyed without any issue! I was recommended this place by multiple friends and I can see why. I'll be coming back for rekeying in the future!”

“lost the key to my tool box, had double master locks on it. they made a key for it without a key to copy. First key did not work but took it back and they made an adjustment, this time it was perfect. had 3 keys made for $14. could not have asked for better service and I believe the price was great.”

“Quality merchandise Excellent customer service”

“Very nice people great service and helpful people”

“Malachi provided World class service today. I needed some keys made, and this young man was top-notch. Thank you.”

“I am with the previous 1 star victims that did business with these folks. In my opinion they don't deserve 1 star. One of the owners doesn't care about making things right! The lady that takes your money, is off her rocker!”

“Just called read the few reviews of this company and just as I thought. THEY ARE BAD....I wish I could give 0 stars. I locked my keys in my car and the lady probably pat answers didn’t even say her name how professional is that says “we don’t have anyone to do automotive”. SOUNDS LIKE THEY NEED TO HIRE MORE PEOPLE. I hope my review causes them to lose more business.”

“I went to 4 other places to see if they could copy a new key for me from a broken one. Mr. Key said they needed my car for a half day to make sure they get the key made correctly but I don’t have time for that. Went to midland lock and the gentlemen who lols like Anthony Hopkins was very nice didn’t say much he was super sweet and made the key had me check if it fits, it fit but wouldn’t then he then took it back two seconds later came out and said now try it. It fit and it turned I was so relieved! They were my last shot too! I highly recommend this place! They made me very happy! 5 stars easy!”

“Had an appointment, they never showed or returned my calls or messages after I confirmed the time and location and sent the serviceman a text”

“Very very very pleased with my service I received. Immediate help with respect, and good price. I went to a previous shop for help with a key and was provided horrible service, I thank came to midland lock, and was taken care of with amazing generosity service I'll definitely be returning for my future lock/key services Thank you midland lock,”

“A lady, or at least I think it was a lady named Pat was very rude and denied me service saying they "were too busy" to assist me. Not a problem, sent my business for a major retail chain store to Basin Locksmith who gladly took the money. Avoid these people. Mean and rude people do not deserve your business or hard earned money.”

“I would give no stars to this SOB....I was locked out of my house with my two children and got a 6:00pm appt with the Receptionist. Called back at 6:20pm to confirm my appt and the man on the other end told me he was TOO BUSY for me......I had already waited three hours.....Then he proceeded to hang up on me after I stated I had an appt.....the only reason this guy is in service is because Midland is a boom town with no real professionals..........”

“Good service, keys I get here always work great”

“Quick and good customer service”

“The gentleman at the counter was very nice and made my house key in less than 5 minutes. Definitely recommend.”

“I believe they are overprice for the work they perform. They are professional at what they do with locks no doubt about it. But too pricey. That’s one of the reasons living in the Permian basin is so expensive.”

“Never had a problem, these guys are great. Helpful and knowledgeable. I don't go elsewhere.”

“I had some specialty keys made. They were fast and efficient and the price was good too.”

“Prompt, professional service to duplicate an atypical key that couldn't be duplicated elsewhere. Will be happy to do business again in the future.”
