Minute Key

Minute Key runs locksmith services out of a spot inside the Walmart Supercenter at 5200 Fairmont Parkway in Pasadena, Texas. The setup focuses on key duplication through automated kiosks, covering house keys, fobs, and car keys. Business details list the location as open every day with no set closing time, handling basic copying needs for local customers who stop by during regular shopping trips.

Reviewers describe stops for extra house keys and mailbox keys, where some copies turn in the lock right away while others need extra cleaning with steel wool or an emery board to remove rough spots before they work. A few people mention getting a third key at no extra charge after paying for two, and the machine sometimes offers decorative styles that kids like for their own house keys. Others report multiple copies that never fit the door or mailbox despite following the on-screen steps.

The kiosk sits in the store and runs all day and night across the full week. Customers note the automatic process moves fast once they start, with prices coming in around six to eleven dollars for a small batch of keys. Access stays simple for anyone already at the Walmart, though some run into issues trying to reach someone for a refund when the copies fail to work as expected.

Google shows a 3.9 rating across 14 reviews, with repeated notes on the machine convenience next to problems with key accuracy and fit. Themes come up around quick service at the counter but inconsistent results on the finished keys. DIRT Score 2.6 from reviews on Finds.

“2 of the 3 keys did NOT work AT FIRST. They were hard to turn and hard to slide into the lock. So I used a steel wool pad and emery board to thoroughly clean the metal remnants and smooth the edges. Worked like a champ. Such a convenient set up!”

“2 keys for $10.83 and they gave 3rd free. Keys all work just fine. Service kiosk was quick and had cute options. My 8yr old feels like a "big girl" with her new pretty house key lol!!”

“This is my second time getting keys made and they don't work. Yes the machine is convenient but its not accurate in making house keys. I thought maybe I copied the wrong key by accident the last time and maybe I should give it another shot, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The machine simply doesn't work as well as they advertise...”

“to be honest with you I was very disappointed because I was trying to make copies for my mail box key .... I got charged $6.50 for three keys that did not work and I could not get my money back or talk to any one to get refunded ..........it was a pure waste of $6.50 and my time”

“Bought 3 keys and not one works on my door! Big waste of money.”

“Easy to operate automatic machine, and quick & easy at good prices.”
