“9/13/19 Review Update I originally rated the company a 1 star. Their manager Andrew responded within a few hours, admitted that they had not handled things well. He personally came out and diagnosed the problem and proposed a very reasonable fix. I am very pleased with their responsiveness and Mea Culpa. I had fortress come out to work on an access issue with my Honeywell Commercial system. The came out and looked over the system, charged me $400 and literally as soon as they left we began having the same problem, only worse. Both I and my Director of Operations called to have them come out again because we were told that it was warranteed for 30 days. After 4 times of calling and being told that they would come out they have not. Now I am out $400 and my door entry system no longer works. I chose this company because they had so many positive reviews. Unfortunately it did not work for me and now I am going to have to spend money to have someone else come out.”

“It felt like the end of the world when our main entrance went out at our 24/7 fitness facility. Every other company wanted to charge me for an assessment but John was able to look at pictures I sent him and give me a FREE assessment, told me where I could find the part I needed at the absolute cheapest, and gave me other avenues I could take if I wanted a new door mechanism. So, before I ever saw him in person, he already had 5 star customer service with replying to my emails and phone call (I have very limited lock/door knowledge). The morning I got the part, I called him out of the blue and said I really needed it asap. He was able to find a sliver of time immediately, where he (John) and his employee (Ben) were able to come out and take out/replace the old door system in maybe 15 minutes max. Our new door system works perfectly and is smooth as butter, all thanks to the 5 star job and customer service that John, Ben, and Fortress Lock Safe, & Security were able to provide. I would HIGHLY recommend anybody looking for the best service and price to call John!!”

“Couldn't be happier with Cristian's help and service on behalf of Fortress. Had an old front door lock not responding to several of our keys and he came out to assess and attempt a cleaning/repair, but ultimately replace the locking mechanism with a new one, matching the only key I had on me at the time. My mistake was using this particular key, as it's a copy (maybe even a copy of a copy) and come to find out long after he finished and left that yes the new lock is matcgued perfectly to it, but the older "original" keys, like the one my wife uses to the house, won't work because this new lock is so specifically matched to the copy! Reached out to Cristian the next day and he squeezed me in for a quick reservice, no charge. Got me squared away in 5 minutes, and this time I had the original keys and we tested them all. Wonderful guy and a wonderful snob well done. Thanks Cristian!”

“Very unprofessional and shady service. Initial call with Andrew (the “service manager”) went okay, but when he heard I was interested in using my own cameras he seemed disinterested almost immediately. Forget the fact I still needed smart locks across my 4,500+ sqft house, a guest house and an overall system for surveillance and maintenance. He asked for pictures and other personal information which I sent. He went dark for days. I asked for an update a few days later since they cancelled our in person consult and they never responded to the personal information they asked me to provide. I asked if it was a bad fit, Andrew responded “no I’ll be in touch”. 2 weeks of silence. I engaged Telstar who has been great. They’ve already been out to the property twice, provided proposals and potential start dates. Thats how you conduct business. Not this shady mickey mouse Fortress company which comes off as super sleazy. The fact that they asked for all of my personal information and pictures of my house and decides to go dark after providing all of that? That is EXTREMELY concerning to me. Urge you to stay away. EDIT: I received a call from the owner (John) and he has apologized. It was ”

Not only did they do what I needed, they also fixed things to make them work better. They also let me know when something might need to be replaced soon. “We had hired Fortress at Centex Technologies in Killeen, TX to do a really big job of taking traditional doors to an electronic security system. We had trouble finding someone that could integrate with our phone system and Fortress was able to step up and give us just what we wanted. “If you're here because you're locked out of your car or house, don't do what I did. I finally called them after wasting 4 hours trying to get into my F 150. They promised to be there in 45 minutes, but I told them at this point no hurry. I was also a bit worried that I live in the boonies and Google maps is off by a half mile. They said no problem and even knew the road i lived on. 30 minutes later, Mike showed up, and he opened the truck in minutes. Long story short, for less than 100 bucks, it was the best money I ever spent. My only mistake, I should have called them after the first 15 friutless minutes!!”

The video quality is superb, and the ease of being able to access the picture from my phone is fantastic! “We had some issues with a set of French doors getting stuck in lock mode after installation of keypads by Fortress. Fortress was prompt to come out and take a look at the issue. It was NOT a Fortress keypad issue but rather a door installation issue! Jeremy with Fortress was kind enough to help and looked at all of my doors that Fortress put keypads on. The door installer didn't put all the screws in properly and some doors were even missing screws!! Jeremy gave me some very good information about my doors that I have since shared with my door installer. The door installer is going to come out and check out the work they did and see why things weren't installed like they should have been.
