JT Creations, L.L.C.

JT Creations, L.L.C. operates as a painting and remodeling company in Dothan, Alabama. Jay, Jan, and Jordyn Timmerman run the business as partners. It began as a small venture after they closed their paint supply company and has operated as a licensed home building and remodeling firm for more than 25 years. The company provides residential and commercial painting, construction work, remodels, and cabinets across the local area.

Homeowners have called on them to widen doorways quickly for medical needs, install handicap showers while managing VA grant paperwork, add back porches complete with walls and brick fireplaces, restore pool decks by replacing rotten lattice and applying two-tone paint, repaint home interiors to change gloomy builder colors, update kitchens, and handle bathroom remodels. Jay and his crew handled these jobs, with Jan noted for detailed interior work on some projects. Customers describe the results as solid and functional, with crews matching existing siding and brick on additions and leaving spaces brighter after interior paint jobs.

The company responds the next morning on urgent requests, keeps owners updated at each stage, finishes on schedule and within budget, cleans up daily, and moves furniture as needed. Reviewers note fair pricing, professional and courteous crews who introduce workers on site, and a willingness to handle extra details without loose ends. Work stays limited to the Dothan, Alabama region.

The Google rating stands at 4.3 from 19 reviews, with frequent comments on quality results and crew conduct though a few note paint application errors that required return visits and extra fixes by others. DIRT Score 3.3 from 19 reviews on Finds.

“I cannot speak highly enough of JT Creations. We reached out to them with a time sensitive need to widen doorways for a medical situation. They were at our house the next morning and scrutinized the job for the least invasive method to accommodate our needs. We had a quote, started and finished the work within days. JT Creations does quality work at a fair price and is extremely accommodating. They went out of their way to save our floors. Their staff are highly skilled and a pleasure to have working in your home. They clean up after themselves and finish the project with no loose ends. We would recommend them over any contractor in the Wiregrass!”

“JT Creations just completed a handicap shower for my disabled veteran husband. I would like to highly recommend his company. He was the only contractor we contacted willing to deal with the VA, and all the necessary paperwork involved in a grant. Jay, and all his crew were professional and courteous. I especially appreciated the way he came with the workers and introduced them at each step of the project. He was extremely easy to work with and went above and beyond what I expected. The shower was done in a timely manner, which was important to me. JT Creations made this a positive remodeling experience. The next project we plan I will definitely be contacting JT Creations because I can rest assured I'll get a good result!”

“A tremendous THANK YOU to Jay and his gracious crew for the wonderful job they did on our back porch. I had a vision and they by far exceeded it! Jay and his team worked hard both behind the scenes and on-site to create a beautiful outdoor space for our family, complete with a new wall and beautiful brick fireplace area. And might I add, they worked quickly to make sure this could all get accomplished before Christmas?! 🙏 They seamlessly built this add-on to our existing home, including matching our current siding and brick to perfection! You would never know that this extension to our space hadn't always been there. These guys always showed up with a smile on their face, ready to accomplish the goal. Thank you Keith, Thomas, Kelly, and Jay for all that you did for us! We can never say thank you enough for what you were able to do. We will definitely be reaching out to Jay for any of our future needs, and I highly recommend that you do too!”

“Jay Timmerman and the team did a fantastic job restoring, repairing, and painting our pool deck area. The lattice work above the pool needed to be completely restored, removing rotting wood and rebuilding the unit then re-staining it. The pool deck needed some crack repairs before painting the entire deck in two colors. Jay and the team were great to work with and completed the project on time and in budget. They moved and replaced the deck furniture. Communication was excellent. I highly recommend these folks.”

“We hired them to come paint the interior of our main living area and hallways. So this job took a few days to complete. Our house originally had the builders gray color in every room which made the house feel gloomy. So I chose my colors and they went to work. I am so happy I hired such professionals. They truly did a wonderful job and I felt very comfortable and at ease with them being in the house while I ran errands. I totally recommend them for whatever job you need done. Take my word for it because I don’t like most people. Lol! Thanks guys for making my house so much brighter. I’m walking on sunshine. Literally! 😆”

“Jay and his crew were very courteous and professional. They did an outstanding job painting the interior of our home. We were extremely pleased with their work and the end result! Highly recommend JT Creations”

“Jay Timmerman and his crew recently remodeled and updated my kitchen. Jay was excellent to work with thru the whole process. The result was fantastic. I am very pleased with all his ideas and especially the way he kept in touch with me throughout.”

“I'm not good at posting reviews, and I just found this link requesting me to give one. I found it when I was looking for there number to do some more work. Sorry JT, I'm late with this review! These guys do great work and my bathroom remodel turned out awesome! Now I can call about my other job, without feeling guilty!”

“We had an excellent experience with JT Creations. The workmanship was excellent, and the finished products were lovely. I wouldn't want anyone to paint my house, now that I've used JT Creations services!”

“They had to return a second time to repaint two walls because they trimmed with the wrong paint. Instead of rolling the paint they brushed both walls. Now I am paying twice for someone else to hopefully fix this mess. Update - even after repainting it, one wall is so bad that it has to be entirely skim coated and then repainted yet again. Cost for new painter to repaint two walls - $300. Cost to skim coat one wall and repaint with two coats because the repainting did not fix it - $950. RESPONSE TO JAY - the issue was using a brush for the entire wall instead of cutting it in with a brush and then rolling it. When you rolled the walls the first time they both looked fine, except for the trim work done with the wrong paint. If you wanted or needed different paint the second time around it was YOUR responsibility to say so, since you are SUPPOSED to be the professional. This was clearly 'operator error', not the paint.”

“Picture it, you’re doing the speed limit in a SCHOOL ZONE and a work truck with J.T. Creations written across it gets directly behind you so close if you lightly press your brakes the truck will SMASH into you. You decide to make a right turn to get out of the truck’s way and as you’re turning the driver LAYS on the horn nearly running you off the road. Well that was my experience with JT Creations. So, if you are considering this business take heed because if the owners believe they have the right to act in such an unprofessional and HAZARDOUS manner in a SCHOOL ZONE, how do you think they will behave when you disagree or critique their work if you contract them. To be this RECKLESS in a SCHOOL ZONE and you have your COMPANY NAME on the truck shows how asinine this “company” truly is and how they care more about themselves than children and of course their customers. DO NOT RECOMMEND.”

“Jan does beautiful work...hand sewn, apliqued, embroidered, you name it, she can do it!”

“They arrived right on time and were very professional at a great price. Would highly recommend!”

“Ordered AKA paraphernalia for someone. The items were quality and pretty.”

“Thank you Jay and team for all of the “little extras “ you did for me.”

“I could say a lot but I will let the one star speak for itself!”

“Painters did a great job!”
