“Extremely disappointing experience. The technician arrived nearly two hours late and rushed through the visit. Our AC unit had been recharged with refrigerant only two months ago, and it is already freezing again—an obvious reason to investigate a possible leak. However, no diagnostic or leak test was performed. When I asked for proper testing, the technician raised his voice at me over the phone and admitted: “I won’t bullshit you, I didn’t run any tests at all. I just washed the condenser, and it was fine.” He then suggested that the other company may not have added refrigerant, asking, “Did you watch them put the gas in?” It seemed easier to question whether another company had been dishonest than to properly diagnose why the unit is freezing again. He also made vague promises about addressing the issue within six months, even though our insurance only covers this service for 30 days. Showing up late, failing to perform diagnostic testing, rushing through the appointment, and yelling at a customer is unacceptable. Unfortunately, our insurance company works with this provider. I had never dealt with them before, but this experience reflects very poorly on both the technician”
“If you value your family’s safety, avoid this company. What should have been a routine HVAC service turned into one of the most traumatic experiences my family has ever been through. While the technicians were working in our home, there were multiple unusual odors. Moments later, our carbon monoxide alarms started going off. My wife is 14 weeks pregnant. When carbon monoxide alarms activate, you don’t stop to investigate, you get your family out. That’s exactly what we did. We evacuated immediately, called the fire department, and rushed to the emergency room to make sure my wife and unborn child were okay. Thankfully, everything checked out, but no family should ever have to spend hours wondering if their pregnant wife and unborn baby have been exposed to carbon monoxide because of work being performed in their home. The fire department spent nearly three hours testing and pressurizing our home before determining it was safe to return. During that process, they discovered the technicians had shut off the gas to our furnace before leaving. We were never told. Had the fire department not informed us, we would have had no idea. That level of communication is inexcusable. What fr”
“Their customer complaints are legitimate!! Our pioneer mini split unit in our master bedroom started blowing hot air and displaying an error code. I requested service through our home warranty with American Home Shield. They assigned this company, and I paid my $100 deductible. They called the same day, informing me that a technician would notify us the day before his arrival. The night before, at 7:48 pm, Mike, a technician from A US Air, texted me. He said he would arrive the next day between 12 PM and 3 PM. Keep in mind I had specifically requested a repair for the mini split unit in my work order. When Mike arrived the next day, my wife took him to the master bedroom to show him the unit. He looked confused and asked, “What is this?” My wife explained that it was our mini split unit that needed repair. He seemed dumbfounded and said it was the dumbest idea he’d ever seen, considering we have central air conditioning. She explained that we use the mini split AC to cool down our master at night without having to cool the entire house, since it’s only she & I that live here. He dismissed this as a waste of energy and insisted we should use our central AC instead. The outside ”
“American Home Shield is a scam and then they use a subpar hvac company! First off, they proceeded to walk in my house with no shoe covers!!! The first $100 service call was diagnosed as a refrigerant fill. It worked 3 days and was back blowing hot air. Of course, now you have to call the warranty company in order for them to come back for the real issue and pay another $100 fee. The appointment was scheduled 5 days later, mind you, it is 103° in Texas. When they came back out they said we needed an evaporator coil but it had to go through the warranty company AGAIN! How did you not see that when you came out 4 or 5 days ago. The US Air technician did not turn in the work order for 2 days. I had to call and find out what the status was. And then they submitted it to the warranty company. So Now we are scheduled out another 3 days for the replacement. I called another company to complete the job that came out same day no charge. They showed photos of where A -US Air left our damper open on our second unit. I was on a call and could not check the work that was done, but I went outside and they did not close the outlets up properly. Beware of both of these companies! I canceled AHS and”
“We had them out as a contractor for American Home Sheild. Initially we thought they did a great job. Only recently we found out the drains were not properly pitched so the unit has been overflowing to the secondary line for almost 8 years. The condensation pan was never supported properly and failed draining hundreds of gallons of water into our bedroom and closet. Their tech came out today and admitted it wasn't installed properly but the company is fighting against fixing the problem unless there paid again. The attached picture shows their work along with the new strap they added to bring the pipe down enough that it would drain properly. I guess their orginal tech must have thought water could run uphill. I wouldnt be so upset if they had manned up, taken responsibility. And just fixed the problem and the damages their negligence caused. I can not say it enough. Run Run far Run fast.”
“They did ultimately fix my ac but it took multiple calls and 3 trips to my house. I eventually was able to get ahold of someone higher up who helped but when I first called they said I couldn’t talk to anyone else bc there supervisor was just going to tell me what they were saying which was that WED was the earliest they could come back out making it a full week since they had already came out and “fixed it” eventually they were able to come the next morning after I spoke to someone else. Another update so it’s accurate: my ac broke again about 3 days later and I gave up on this company and called another one who was able to come out same day and they said it was a totally different issue. It’s been a couple months and no issues since. Reduced down to 3 stars bc they never fixed the issue. Maybe not the most competent ppl working there”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Service & Expertise! I cannot recommend Kameron Richard from A-US Air highly enough! Our AC unit went out, and Kameron came to the rescue. From the moment he arrived, his professionalism and dedication to top-tier customer service were incredibly apparent. He took the time to explain the issue clearly, answer all of my questions, and lay out the best options moving forward. When it came to the actual repair, Kameron's technical skill was top-notch. He diagnosed the problem quickly and had our system running perfectly and efficiently in no time. It is rare to find someone who combines elite technical expertise with such a friendly, customer-first attitude. If you want the job done right by someone you can trust, ask for Kameron at AUS Air. Five stars all the way!”
“My experience with a US Air conditioning of Texas has been great. Everyone I have interacted with has been professional and friendly and honest. They were able to keep my old heat pump working for years until I was ready for a complete upgrade recently. Javier and Derek did an outstanding job with my heat pump upgrade installation. They were friendly and efficient and explained everything to me. Jeremy has fixed my AC over the years and was instrumental in recommending my new unit. He knows his stuff. I highly recommend this company if you need your AC or heat pump fixed or installed and I look forward to working with them in the future.”
“Tech was great and found the issue quickly. I needed a replacement unit and their prices are the best around. Installers were also professional and did a great job. They made it look good. New system operating exactly like it should with the new refrigerant. I am a licensed A/C technician with another job now, so I know what got done is right and the diagnosis was correct. Don't be afraid to call them and save some money.”
“I hired this company for an HVAC diagnostic after experiencing repeated Nest interruptions. I paid the $90 diagnostic fee, and the technician came out, inspected the system, and told me that everything looked fine. During the visit, the technician took photos of several areas inside and outside the system that they said needed cleaning. They quoted me approximately $600 for the cleaning, which I declined because I planned to do it myself. I was told the photos, along with a report of findings, would be emailed to me after the visit. The report never came. I called less than a week later and was told it would be emailed within 24–48 hours. It never came. I called again and received the same response. We even had my husband call and provide a different email address in case there was an issue with delivery. Again, nothing. At this point, they have stopped answering my calls altogether. I understand that things can get lost or overlooked, but after multiple calls and multiple promises to send the information, simply not responding is extremely disappointing. If they had told me they lost the photos and needed to come back out to retake them, I would have understood. Instead, I’ve”
“I don’t need an air-conditioning company right now, but judging by the way this truck was driving. I’m probably not going to call them in fear they might cause a wreck on the way. This truck was going 90 on 35 from new Braunfels to San Antonio, tailgating people, and cutting people off.”
“I have a new system that stopped working with a power problem on a Saturday night. Got this business assigned to me through my warranty company. Their call service called to schedule on Sunday morning & that evening Jeff texted to confirm they’d be out Monday morning. They gave me 30 minutes notice that they were on the way & when they got here they quickly diagnosed a wire that was loose. He fixed it right there & we were good to go. They were both incredibly kind & Jeff raved about how much he appreciates the owner, (his boss), which is always a great sign in a small business. Great local company & those two were fantastic.”
“American Home Shield is a complete scam. And A-US Air Conditioning does awful work. Literally, do not use this company. We had a leak in our AC unit. We had two different companies come out that both said the same thing: the system needs to be replaced due to issues with a coil, etc. I remembered we had the home warranty with AHS, so we decided to go through them. BIG MISTAKE. A tech from A-US Air came out and told me nothing was wrong with our system and we just need to do routine maintenance. Of course, this was not true. The issues continued. We called AHS and they sent out another technician who found that our system in the attic needed to be replaced. We get an estimated bill of close to 3K despite this being "covered" under our warranty. A-US Air comes out to replace our attic unit. Before they even began the work, I received a call from A-US Air requesting payment. The woman explained they require payment before the work is completed. The invoice was approx $2,800. The next day our AC is not working. It is not cooling. It actually was working WORSE than before. I call AHS AGAIN. They send out another technician from A-US Air (the same tech who told us nothing was wrong with ”
“Pedro and his assistant were extremely professional and completed the installation of my evaporator coil quickly and efficiently. I asked several questions throughout the process, and Pedro was thorough and informative with every answer. They finished the job successfully and had my AC up and running in no time.”
“Sergio C., the technician dispatched to our house, was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He diagnosed the issues, explained what was wrong, and repaired our a/c very quickly. I appreciate the great work done, and I plan to use them again in future.”
“The scheduling process is not efficient. there is no flexibility with the technician. communication is very poor and it seems like a very dishonest company. I was concerned of a leak and low freon. The tech told me he didn't even bother checking pressures because it looked fine to him. When i called to request that he at least check the pressures of our HVAC he told me he wasn't going to drive back from his home even though I saw him sitting in his car in our driveway through our cameras. He was in and out within 10minutes. I even asked for a full report of my visit with the findings and what was done exactly and still waiting. not worth using this company with AHS. save your money and find another company. Not much quality in their work or much consideration of the customer in my opinion.”
“UPDATE 2: We got a second opinion, and it turns out we did NOT need the replacement A-US Air said we needed. The second technician tightened one component and added refrigerant. We have had zero issues since. This makes the entire experience even more concerning. A-US Air diagnosed two leaks, said the indoor head needed replacement, and submitted a report to American Home Shield stating the failure was “due to” the installation location. AHS then denied our claim based on that diagnosis. Yet when I questioned it, A-US Air acknowledged they could not definitively say what caused the leak and still refused to clarify their report with AHS. UPDATE: After A-US Air publicly responded to this review asking me to call so they could help, I did. Nothing changed. The representative again acknowledged they could not definitively say airflow caused the leak but refused to contact AHS to clarify the diagnosis. He also told me the “supervisor” I previously dealt with was actually a scheduler who wasn’t familiar with the technical aspects of the claim. Our problems started before the service call. Our original technician had a family emergency, then texted the next morning saying he was avail”
“I highly advise against using A-Us Air Cond Of Texas Ltd. They came out and diagnosed our system as needing a new coil, but the subsequent installation on July 8th was completely botched. Most egregiously, their technicians failed to perform a standard, mandatory pressure test before leaving. As a direct result of this shortcut, the system immediately blew its entire refrigerant charge, leaving us completely without working air conditioning in the peak of Texas July heat. An independent inspection by a licensed third-party HVAC company confirmed that because the system lost that volume of refrigerant so rapidly, it also suffered a significant loss of oil from the compressor crankcase. This leaves our system with a very high probability of premature compressor failure down the road. To make matters worse, their customer service is non-existent. When I called to report that the AC was not working due to their sloppy install, they refused to take immediate accountability or treat it as an emergency. They forced us to wait days for an "opening in the schedule." They showed zero urgency, respect, or empathy, even after being explicitly informed that my wife is a disabled veteran who wor”
“I would give A‑US Air zero stars if I could. My home warranty company sent them to fix my air conditioning, and it turned out to be the worst service experience I have ever had. They completely mishandled my claim, leaving me without air conditioning for 26 days. The technician came out on 9/11 and told me they would repair the unit on 9/14 because they didn’t have the part on the truck and needed to order it. On 9/15, I still hadn’t heard anything, so I reached out to the technician for an update. He told me the part still hadn’t arrived and that the new date would be 9/21. I asked why they didn’t install the temporary part he mentioned that could cool my home, and he said it would void my warranty—fine, I didn’t want that. After 9/21 came and went, they told me they still didn’t have the part and finally admitted it was on backorder. At that point, I called Lennox (the manufacturer) because it was 100 degrees in Texas and something needed to be done. Lennox told me that if the part was on backorder, they could provide the contractor with alternative parts to get my unit running. I called A‑US Air back and asked them to contact Lennox. I spoke with Jayme, who was extremely rude”
“I can’t speak for their DFW branch, but the Austin area of this company is the worst company I have ever interacted with. We had them dispatched through American Home Shield and were not allowed to switch companies. We’ve had issues with our ACs performance for over 30 days now, and techs from this company have been out 6 times to our location, each time implementing a ‘fix’ which we have to call them back the day after to inform them didn’t work. It would be one thing and more honorable if they told us that they honestly didn’t know what was wrong with the unit. But that’s not the case, they come out each time and claim there’s a new issue with it, which tells me either they’re lying about problems, or the previous tech didn’t catch the same issues the previous 5 times. This includes on THREE separate occasions of those six that the techs said our problem was that the AC coils were dirty and the tech cleaned them. So, either the coils get dirty on a weekly basis, the techs do a poor job at cleaning the coils, or that’s just a lie they tell to make up a problem. I’m inclined to believe the lying portion because on one occasion the company legitimately lied and closed out our ticket”
