“Absolutely top-class experience. Rick H and his crews were sensitive, careful, expert, and responsive to our concerns. An old and beautiful elm, thriving 12 years ago but struggling terribly in the past few years. Rick gave us intelligent feedback and his love for trees is evident. His crew chief Trey and the rest of the Hildebrandt people were thoughtful, and paid attention to our requests that they not disturb birds and small animals. “Hildebrandt Tree Tech was recommended to me for fairly extensive tree trimming on our property. I knew I wanted a certified arborist to look at the trees as I was not very familiar with several species and made an appointment for a consultation. Rick Hildebrandt was amazing! He is was just the person I was looking for - he clearly has extensive knowledge and commitment to your personal forest. He answered all my questions, suggested why I might not want to remove trees I was considering removing (and I hate removing trees), had suggestions for other future trees, and correctly assessed that the trees on the property had suffered significant neglect and drought prior to our purchase of the property. He also confirmed that none of the trees had been trimmed since the house was built in 1977, which is exactly what it looked like. Austin and his crew were here for 4 full days and were absolutely outstanding. “I used Hildebrant Tree Service because it is considered the top tree trimming company in Lubbock. Unfortunately, I have to say. that I was very disappointed with their service. Their tree trimmers trimmed most of the interior branches, but left a lot of smaller limbs at the end of the tree. Last week all the weight at the end of one of the branches caused a limb to snap. Fortunately no car was in the driveway at the time. Unfortunately, I had to break the limb from the tree and trim all the branches at the end of the limb in 95 degree heat and fill up one of the dumpsters in the back ally. I also had to drag the large heavy limb to the side of the yard, which is not easy for a 74 year-old man.Now I have to saw the remainder of the limb into smaller pieces to be able to lift it into the dumpster. I also have to find a tall ladder and climb up and saw off the stump remaining on the tree. A Hildebrant supervisor came out to my house to listen to my complaint. He claimed that his workers would never trim the tree and leave that much weight at the end of a limb. I asked before I made the appointment about the $ 89.00 fee Not being applicable, and was assured that the "special" was still being honored, so I made the appointment. The morning of my appointment, today, June 29th, 2026 I received a phone call to inform me that there would be a charge of $ 89.00. The employee bearing the upsetting news was very kind and professional, however I felt that the owner should have been the person to make such a call. Obviously the policy was ambiguous or unclear to the employee. If you want to present your company as professional and reputable to a potential customer, the owner or manager should have made the call. I would never do business with a company that would put their employee in the awkward position to have to resend a policy that was unclear, and to deal with the customer.”
