In a home recently bought, it was then found to have ongoing drain problems and the house was at risk of flooding because of it. These plumbers found and fixed it the problem, permanently. While I was not given a history of the plumbing problem before the house was purchased, it made the job of fixing it more difficult. “I must have called a dozen plumbers Monday, Jan 2nd, only Krystal at Hays County Plumbing answered the phone. In my case, I had a serious leak, 3,000 gallons a day leak. When Krystal answered the phone, she was polite, courteous and friendly. She understood my situation and asked to send the pictures I had taken of the leak so she could relay them to Brandon. I had called late in the afternoon so they could not get to me until the next morning, which was good news to me since I had not heard ANYTHING from the other 12 or so companies I had called. Brandon arrived on time and immediately began to troubleshoot, first thinking a loose connection. After further inspection, Brandon noticed there was a crack on the PRV (Pressure Reduction Valve). He then went to Home Depot to get a new one, however the new valve was a different length and Brandon knew he would need additional pipe fittings, which he also got from Home Depot (saving possible future trips to Home Depot). Brandon fixed the issue, and all is well. The whole time, Brandon was letting me know what he was doing and why. He was very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. They were able to identify the issue, explain it to me clearly (it was loose screws and a deteriorated wax ring), and fix it in less than hour. “We had an electrician come out week before last and tell us our 15 year old water heater was shorting out because the entire thing needed to be replaced. We call American Home Shield home warranty that day (whose services we chose only because the seller of the house agreed to pay for one year AHS for us) and they tell us which plumber they contract with who can come out and help us. We called that plumber twice, to no avail. Called AHS back to try and get ahold of the plumber on our behalf since they wouldn't answer us, and of course that time the plumber answers. They connect us via 3-way call, and the plumber says they will be out in a few days. The day of our appointment comes, and Hays County Plumbing completely no-shows. They said between 8am-12pm and did not show up at all. The day after the initial appointment, Brandon the plumber comes and insists on only changing our element. He pulls it out and it is completely corroded and covered in lime, (again, FIFTEEN year old water heater). We were really looking forward to establishing a relationship with a local plumber, because we just bought a house built in '68 and know we will need lots more work. Horrible customer service, h”

“I have a policy with Choice Home Warranty. I had and still have leaky faucets and a high pitch noise coming from toilets. They assigned this work to Hays County Plumbing who showed up on Tuesday 1/12/21. The technician was in the house for 5 minutes top! He said he knew what parts were needed and would have to call Choice to get an approval for parts. I called Hays County Plumbing on Friday 1/15/21 and asked for an update. The woman said that she would follow up with Choice to get the approval. It is now Thursday 1/21/21 and I still haven't heard back from Hays County Plumbing so I decided to call Choice Home Warranty myself only to find out that Hays County Plumbing never contacted Choice to provide a diagnosis along with parts needed for an approval. Eleven days have passed and I still have these leaks and now the claim has been assigned to another company. God only knows when I'll have these issues fixed. Hays County Plumbing not only made themselves look irresponsible and unprofessional, they also made Choice Home Warranty look bad. I am also disappointed in Choice Warranty for not following up with myself as well as Hays County Plumbing. Neither one deserves 1 star as far as”

“Do it right by a licensed master plumber. When you need to have it done properly and 'by the books' always use a licensed Plumber. We have been more than satisfied with the service. Only problem is they are so busy it is sometimes a few days maybe to get them out, although I'm pretty sure if it is an emergency issue they would figure out a way to respond if at all possible, at least that's what I 'get' from my dealings with them. As a licensed Professional Master Inspector I appreciate a quality job, and someone doing it that actually knows more than I do. Great work.”

“Hays County Plumbing was assigned to us through American Home Shield warranty company, and our experience with them has been nothing but negative, to say the least. I looked them up when they were assigned, and was hoping we wouldn't have the same experience as at least THREE other customers who have claimed no-call no-show. However, that just seems to be how they operate. . When they finally did come (after more unanswered phone calls), Brandon chose to do a very temporary "solution" which worked for exactly one day. Please take these reviews into consideration when choosing a plumber; you'll MAYBE have a good experience with them-- IF they show up. We are still without hot water after a month because they refuse to make it right.”

“They came out to our house yesterday to fix a leak in our water heater. The plumber Brandon asked to look at our 2nd water heater for some reason & moved some knobs around & did some stuff to it then went back & replaced a valve on the leaky water heater telling us it wouldn't fix it but to try & see what happens.This morning the water heater Brandon messed with is leaking severely into our laundry room. I have tried to call & email the plumbing company & their mailbox is full & I have not gotten a response. I posted this review so this doesn't happen to someone else.”
