“The builder of our home only ran a cold water line to the garage, where I was planning on installing both a hot- and cold-water faucet for a stand-alone sink. I called Mr. Rooter to give me an estimate for installing a "T" in the cold water line and installing a point-of-use water heater. The technician warned me that those type of water heaters generally fail after 3-5 years of use, and that he could run a hot-water line through the wall (and have a contractor redo the sheetrock for me) before installing the plumbing fixtures. Though it may have cost me a little more up front, that was the best solution to my problem. I now have a much more reliable and robust water supply to my utility sink! Thanks to Andrew C. for giving me a better option, one that I will not regret in the future. In addition to being informative, he was very prompt, did clean work, and was responsive to all of my concerns during the installation. The very next business day, two technicians arrived and gave me a quote. I accepted their terms and price. However, once the technicians got under my house to do the work, they discovered that the job was not going to be as difficult as they first thought and came back with a price that was approximately $700 less than the original quote. The point is, they did not have to say anything. They could kept the old price and I would have been none the wiser. That type of honesty is exceptionally refreshing in a world of corruption.
