About
The Water Company operates as plumbers out of Spring Branch, Texas. They focus on water service needs for homes in the Canyon Lake area, a spot that switched utility providers some years ago. Their field crews handle the daily work of keeping water flowing through lines that face extreme summer heat along with sudden winter freezes. Homeowners call them out when pipes break or water pressure falls off without any warning. Crews cover residential repairs and keep systems running in the Hill Country region where conditions test equipment regularly.
They take on jobs like fixing slab leaks, replacing fixtures, and sorting out drain issues along with water heater work and softener installs. After hours calls get handled by crews who respond quickly, sometimes calling back in minutes and completing the repair inside half an hour even when the temperature hits over one hundred degrees. Workers put in long hours outdoors in the heat or when it turns to ice and cold. One customer noted the field team showed up and got everything sorted fast despite the weather. These plumbers deal with pressure regulating valves and auger services as part of keeping homes supplied with steady flow.
Customers point to the field technicians for their hard work and fast fixes when problems hit, giving them credit for showing up no matter the conditions. At the same time reviews call out the billing side with added fees for online payments and credit card use plus charges for system improvements that never delivered better reliability. Outages kept happening and communication from the office side fell short on follow through. That gap between solid ground work and ongoing management problems sits behind the low marks across the board. DIRT Score 1.43 from 167 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“The price and other issues aside, the guys out in the field are great! They don't have anything to do with policy. They just work hard out in 100°+ weather. Or ice and cold. We just had an after hours issue and they called us back within a few minutes and had it fixed within 30 minutes. They deserve a good review!”
“This is, by far, the most poorly managed utility company I have encountered in Texas. Customers are charged additional fees for so-called “system improvements,” yet there has been no measurable improvement in service within our area; in fact, reliability has declined. This is the second water outage in five days, and once again there has been no advance notice or communication. Access to water is a basic necessity, and the company’s continued lack of transparency, reliability, and regard for its customers is unacceptable. Zero stars is more appropriate.”
“Worst utility company ever. I requested a bill mailed to me for the past two months and haven't received one yet; forcing me to pay online. They then hit you with a service fee for online payments and another fee for credit card use.”
“If I could give zero stars, I would. This is the worst utility company I have ever come across. The elected officials of Canyon Lake should resign over the decision to switch from the old company to TxWaterCo.”
“I’m moving in city, and in the same neighborhood. They refused to simply transfer my water account. Instead, I have to request to cancel the current one. Then fill out an application for the new house. That, and they now want a new application fee and deposit. Did I mention I’ve been a customer for nearly 4 years already without ever being late?! Apparently I can avoid the deposit if I request a letter of credit from my precious water company. I pointed out…it’s you! They said they can’t look up my current account to verify for my new account. I have to request it via some other form. They have the monopoly on water in this area so I guess they think they can just scam their customers and claim “policy”. 2025 and they act like it’s 1965 in some back woods town where people just don’t know better.”
