About
Allen Steele Plumbing Company works as a plumber based in Tyler, TX. Allen started the business in 1988 after growing up around respected plumbers in his family and working in the trade his entire life. The crew sticks to residential jobs that cover repairs, remodels, and new construction. They focus on getting to the root of a problem and attempting a fix before any replacement comes up, which keeps costs down when possible. Homeowners in the area deal with everything from old pipes to seasonal issues that hit during Texas weather swings, and this outfit has built its approach around showing up ready to handle those calls without extra steps.
The company offers water heater installation and repair, sewer service, gas line installation, backflow testing, and full plumbing inspections. Crews handle bathtub drain clogs that stick around after basic cleaning, restore water service after outages, and tackle gas inspections during remodels. One job turned the water back on for a couple who needed it that same day. Another visit addressed a reinstall that needed adjustment after the initial work. They aim for quick arrivals and fair pricing on each task, though some calls have started with the wrong address or required extra follow-up when something did not line up right the first time.
Customers note solid speed on arrival and reasonable prices when the work gets done right, along with clear knowledge of the systems they touch. Quality holds up on the initial fix in several cases, yet communication slips show up when directions get missed or a return visit does not happen to correct a small error. Price stays a steady point in the good reports, while follow-through on quality creates the mixed results across the full set. DIRT Score 2.88 from 25 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Needed the drain to my bathtub checked out, as it doesn’t drain. Even after cleaning it out! Steele Plumbing showed up at a different house! And after my landlord emailed them, asking them to please help us out, they called her and BLAMED HER for not telling them exactly which house to go to?! Even though my landlord DID tell them! They then proceeded to tell my landlord that she’s “fired” from being a customer ever again. All because the plumbers decided to go to the wrong place.”
“Thank you and your team for the help and great customer service. My wife and I are very pleased and grateful for yall to help save the day and turning our water back on. We send our appreciation to yall. 🙏🏻”
“Not my favorite plumber experience. I've asked my home warranty to send me someone else next time we have a plumbing need. Allen Steele came 2-3 times for different services and they did the work well but wouldn't go back and fix something that they reinstalled incorrectly. It wasn't a big deal (faucet handle twisting the wrong way) but I shouldn't of had to push the matter and I left it because he made me feel uncomfortable about asking. Sometimes you have to stay on them for additional service or quotes. They are fine but again, I've decided to follow my gut on this.”
“I hope your plumbing services are better than your driving services. To the person in the white van that got close enough to hit me, after I signaled I was coming over, shame on you. You have your companies logo on the side of the van”
“Home warranty company contacted Allen Steele Plumbing to replace a pool pump. It took over a month to get the pump in and replaced. The new pump would not hold prime and it was thought that a crack had formed during cold weather on suction side of pool plumbing. I contacted a trusted pool service company and they came out and immediately said the fittings were not the correct ones for the new pump. So Allen Steele Plumbing just swapped the pump and did not use the supplied fittings and actually plumb the pump correctly. I contacted Allen Steel Plumbing and was berated on the phone and told that is not how it works and the warranty company should have been contacted to have Allen Steele called back out. Why would I want them to come back if they could not do a simple job right the first time. While speaking with the lady from Allen Steele she got angry and actually hung up on me. Extremely not professional company and would not recommend them to anyone.”
