“A classic building with a great deli menu and homemade desserts. We tried the gourmet cheese spread and it was delicious. The muffuletta had chunky olives instead of a traditional schmear on soft bread. The Rueben had plenty of sliced beef & good pumpernickel. Friendly staff, plentiful seating, and a good menu will welcome us back next time we’re in the area”

“What a gem! Fossati’s Delicatessen is a must-stop! Not only was the staff immensely friendly, but so were the customers — even sharing tips on where to eat once we made it to Seadrift! I had the Cuban sandwich, served warm on a panini-style bread with three kinds of meat and mustard. Paired with a fresh garden salad, it was absolutely delicious. My friends ordered the Napoleon and Katy’s Platter — both were equally amazing. The atmosphere is full of charm, and with 140 years of the same family running it, you can feel the history. It’s the oldest deli in Texas, and you can tell they take pride in everything they serve. Prices were reasonable, the vibe was unforgettable, and while we had to pass on dessert this time, we’re already planning a return visit on the way home. Highly recommended!”

“I can only speak about the service. Or lack thereof. We were greeted upon arrival. Asked if we wanted anything to drink. We asked for water and waited. After 10 minutes, we got up and walked out. There were at least three waitstaff to cover 4-5 tables. Not sure if they didn't like the way we looked, or it was an oversight. But still frustrating. If the owner has a reasonable explanation, I'll update my rating. Otherwise, it felt like they don't like non-locals. Which is odd in a college town.”
