“Robertson Pools built my pool 25 years ago and did a great job. Lasted until 4 years ago when I had the pool/spa re-plastered. Coming to today I have a leak in my hot tub that I called Robertson’s to look at and repair. The guy came out and after looking at the tile work, grout, stone issues he said …. quote “it was shoddy work” that they did and I should have gotten back to them earlier to fix. Your workmanship should be backed by your previous excellent work when you built the pool that lasted 21 years. 4 years into a remodel shouldn’t be falling apart due to “shoddy workmanship” that now you say I’m responsible for and charging me $2,500 to repair your “shoddy work”. For a pool to last 21 years and the renovation 4 years ago the quality has gone down hill. Do not use these guys as it’s always “well that wasn’t covered in the estimate”. I went thru this 5 years ago during the “renovation” so for it to happen again is 100% unacceptable. Pictures attached of missing grout, holes in the mortar and video of the leak. Neither was a giant pool, but they treated us like we were a big customer. Tony Martin was our designer, who made the pools spectacular while within a reasonable budget. “Robertson built my pool 13 years ago. I chose them because they gave me a beautiful design, and more pool for the money than their competition. They also warranted the structure of the pool for life, which most companies don't. When it came time to resurface the pool, I got quotes from several companies. I had a structural crack, so I knew Robertson would have to repair that before any other company could do the resurfacing. I also wanted to add a bench, and not all pool remodelers can do that. In the end, Robertson basically met the best price I had, so I selected them. Not everything went perfectly, which is pretty much the case in any construction/remodel project. Communication was sometimes lacking, which left me frustrated when a one week job stretched out to three weeks. When they were done, the pool looked great, but a mistake they made at the last minute left me with a patch in the wall that didn't match. They told me to give it a while to see if the color would eventually match. In the meantime, their equipment guy, Berek, and their start-up guy, Alex, showed me just how good their people are. They did have the best design but it was little things and attention to detail that made us go with Robertson. The project was not perfect but what project of this size is? What made me confident in our choice was the little things that can become big things. From the Rebar to the 2" piping to the proper equipment and quality of the electrical, Plumbing and Gunite. I have read to many horror stories where builders undersized the pumps, or used undersized piping or used ball joints instead of actuators. Robertson does it the right way.
