“I would strongly NOT RECOMMEND this company. To start, we have been a loyal customer with our other home for over a year now. We have started services on this home and this is the way they treat loyal customers. Now they will lose business to not just ONE home but TWO homes. Pool Scouts came to my home for their **first service visit** five days before this incident. We are currently in the process of moving into the home, and the property—including the pool—had been inspected less than two weeks earlier, with no leak or issue of this nature reported. After Pool Scouts serviced the pool, I discovered that one of the valves had been left completely closed while the pool was turned back on and continued running. Shortly afterward, our pool began experiencing a significant leak that had not been present before their service. I contacted the company on Friday because I was concerned about what was happening. Over the weekend, as the leak became more serious, I attempted to contact them again. They got everything back on track and our pool was beautiful again after just one visit. They’re always prompt and do such a great job with our pool. And, we noticed that there was a leak coming from somewhere, so we asked if they would take a look at our equipment . They said “yes” and then went silent. I reached out again. They finally came out, almost two weeks later. Charged us for a service fee, but never told us what they did or saw. I reached out again. They finally gave a simple response and that it was fixed. “Tried out Pool Scouts of McKinney based on their “free first cleaning” offer. It sounded great—until they showed up, barely cleaned the pool, and then charged me anyway. I reached out to let them know how poor the service was and reminded them of the free visit they advertised. They apologized, promised to come back, do a proper job, and comp the second visit. They did return and did a slightly better job, but then charged me $60 for chemicals—more than the cost of the cleaning itself. For context, they barely charged for chemicals on the first visit, when the pool was in worse condition. To make things worse, they tried to upsell me a pool robot and offered to “program” it for me… even though it’s a plug-and-play Aiper device that doesn’t require any programming. It felt like a sales tactic to take advantage of someone unfamiliar with pool tech. After I canceled service, they still sent someone out for a third visit without my approval. Overall, a really frustrating and unprofessional experience. I would not recommend them—they were misleading and untrustworthy. For what they charged for one (supposedly free) visit and one paid visit, you could get a month of service from most”
