Hughes Pools & Spas

Hughes Pools & Spas handles pool service and spa work out of Montgomery. They run three locations across Alabama and have spent over fifty years building inground pools, liner pools, gunite pools, and swim spas. The company sells and services Hot Spring and Caldera spas along with accessories such as covers, heaters, pumps, filters, and sanitization systems. They also carry above-ground pools and handle related work like automatic covers and winter safety covers.

Customers bring in green pools that turned bad during busy times or right before family events. Staff members like Sumer, Victoria, and McKenzie walk them through shocking first, then vacuuming and balancing chemicals instead of wasting money on salt or extra algaecide. Others come for hot tub purchases or maintenance help and leave with clear steps that keep water clean without upsells. One job involved shallowing an existing pool, adding a retaining wall, and pouring a concrete pad, all finished with attention to detail and no mess left behind.

The Prattville store draws most of the comments for quick service during regular hours. Staff greet repeat customers by name, answer questions on the spot, and explain options without pressure. They cover the Montgomery, Prattville, and Enterprise areas and work with both pool owners and spa buyers who need guidance on equipment or water care. Reviewers note the team listens to schedules and budget limits before suggesting fixes that actually work.

“Absolutely love the girls who work here! Sumer and Victoria both are extremely knowledgeable and very welcoming! A lot of other pool stores will often throw things at you saying you need it, when you don’t. These girls are honest, and trustworthy and unlike other pool stores will only recommend what you truly need to get your pool right!”

“Fantastic Experience with Hughes Pools! I can't say enough good things about Hughes Pools! From start to finish, the entire team was professional, detail-oriented, and truly a pleasure to work with. A special shoutout to Brody Fisher and the owner, Carol—both are incredibly down-to-earth and genuinely committed to helping their customers. It's rare to find people this dedicated and approachable. Not only did they expertly shallow up my pool, but they also went above and beyond by installing a landscaping retaining wall and a concrete parking pad. Every part of the job was done with great attention to detail and cleanliness, which I really appreciated. The end result exceeded my expectations, and I couldn’t be happier. If you're looking for a company that does quality work and treats you like family, I highly recommend Hughes Pools. Great folks all around!”

“The Prattville location of Hughes Pools & Spas is the most friendly and helpful pool supply establishment that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. The Prattville team; Sumer, Victoria, and Mackenzie, are the three sisters of "all things pool" in the Autauga, Elmore and south Chilton County areas. These three local country girls very quickly assist their customers, listen to them and their concerns, and help define solutions for the simplest and most economical return to joy and relaxation in the resident pool or spa. They are experienced and aware that customers arrive at their door searching for answers in what is for most people a very bewildering subject, home pool care and maintenance. The trio offer reasonable and well explained solutions to often complex issues with a sweet southern smile. Very highly recommend this business. FIVE STARS.”
